Thor and Lee,
I'm sure it is much easier working on the book when you are in the same place! Sounds like the coming week will be quite productive! Look forward to your next update!

@stevendabudgie- Curious, I looked up Klaus Nomi and what an interesting artist! His voice was beautiful but his death was so sad and tragic, apparently he died alone in a cancer ward in NY. I’m grateful that our Freddie had friends to see him through his last days.
I very much would love to ask Thor a question on here, but the project of 97 pages of reading in order to first ascertain whether anything I might ask has or has not already been enquired about is mightily intimidating.
However, for now, I do send safe and happy travel wishes.

Good Luck you guys! It boggles my mind that publishers aren't jumping at this book. It seems like such a sure thing - who wouldn't want these pics and these anecdotes??? Wishing you the BEST of luck on your trip. Sending good vibes your way
FreddieDarling you are absolutely correct that the "Bowl" is the Milton Keyes concert (Like Thor I was assuming it was Hollywood Bowl too - derp)
The version I was watching is almost 2 hours long and they are absolutely AMAZING for the entire time (except for about 20 seconds where Brian can't get his guitar to work during his solo lol)
Here is the link if anyone is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEX8yh7cc9Q&t=1014s
Funny part is during Fat Bottom Girls Freddie changes lyrics to "Fat Bottom Girls you made an ASSHOLE outta me"
You would never know his hand was injured, or at least I couldn't tell. He played piano great during multiple songs, strummed the hell out of his guitar during Crazy Little Thing, plus he it hanging from poles on upper level and hanging off of Roger's tall cymbal stand during the encore.
Another funny part was Freddie talking before playing some Hot Space songs (at about 16:30) He says: "This doesn't mean we've lost our Rock and Roll feel OK? It's only a bloody record. Some people get so excited about these things."
Man what a show!! The energy is absolutely incredible

@thundergod Mr. Arnold ---
I have been avidly reading this and old threads about your friendship with Freddie Mercury.
I grew up enjoying Queen's music IN ITS ERA but cannot say I was "into" the band as much as other groups at the time (Bowie in particular).
But having just taken my daughters to see "Bohemian Rhapsody", I became utterly fascinated about Freddie's life and his creative genius.
I have many questions to ask, but will start with two--- and forgive me if this was asked and answered, I haven't read EVERY page of this forum.
What did you think the the film?
Why in research I subsequently did about Freddie Mercury's friendships, and affairs, are you reported as having died of AIDS?
Many thanks in advance.

Thor dicsuused his thoughts on the movie here a few months ago. From what I remember he wasn't impressed with how they portrayed Freddie. He let us know contrary to the movie Freddie was never pining for Mary nor was he constantly depressed. He loved being gay and enjoying gay culture. Something the movie made look like a negative thing. Sorry I don't remember what page his summary was on but it was around the first day the movie came out in America.
I've been looking up Freddie info for years and I've never once seen anyone claim Thor died?? Where did you find that? If you do make it through both threads he is involved with you'll find 2 photos of him (one recent one from 2018 worth a fan of Freddie's) and it's the same ol' Thor. Handsome as always and very much alive lol.

AnnieBee - in regards to Hot Space...I confess that I LOVE Body Language (Don't Talk!) and I am also a huge fan of Calling All Girls. I was 16 when MTV first came out and Calling all Girls got heavy rotation. I think it is such a cool video with the robots. Queen confessions lol.....
I thought back chat was so silly and cringe worthy when I first listened to it and found the video with Freddie's disco dancing. But yep it is growing on me.
I will have to check out Cool Cat.
An article I found that is PRO-Hot Space that gives this album credit for trying new things for the band: https://thequietus.com/articles/08894-queen-hot-space

Hi Thor and Lee, great initiative to publish a book.

Not every publisher is keen on having a "kiss and tell" book in his portfolio put together by so-called "loyal friends" who boast about having sex with a (dead) celebrity who cannot defend himself anymore...
@NotQuiteAShilling: Thanks for the article! That’s pretty much how I feel about Hot Space, but I guess being a later Queen fan I can appreciate it more so than those who were Queen fans from the beginning and then all of a sudden heard this strange album that didn’t sound like their other stuff. I’m thinking the time Freddie spent in New York influenced this album because a lot of the songs are probably similar to what was on the radio here. It reminds me of the 80s I grew up in and I really like it more than most people do.
@stevendabudgie: I think Nomi could have pulled off Montserrat’s vocals on Barcelona, his voice was marvelous!
