Thank you for all your kind words. I cannot answer anything about Munich because we were never there as a guest of Freddie's.
The trolls are so destructive of the truth. Many still blame one of my good friends from that time period, John Murphy, as having given Freddie AIDS. It must have been an immaculate transfer of the virus! They like to think like this:
John knew Freddie...he must have spread AIDS to Freddie...he was a flight attendant...he must have picked it up in Africa... he was patient zero...ALL MAJOR BS.
Recently, someone who had never before contacted me, did and wanted to know the exact date and the exact year that I had relations with Freddie. I told him...wow what an odd question for your very first contact with me. Knowing what he was trying to do, I told him that I have been HIV negative since the first day a blood test was developed until the present day. I did NOT give Freddie either AIDS or HIV.
What f'ing rudeness is displayed by these trolls!

I graduated Columbia in 1981. There was no research then, that I knew of, dealing with my own "deviant lifestyle." I was not yet comfortable enough to reveal it to my schoolmates .I supposed there was an opportunity to work with an AIDS patient in my Community Care rotation, but I know I would have steered away from it at that time. But, I did choose doing pre-natal care of a pregnant dwarf whose boyfriend was 6 ft 5 inches. Maybe I can put THAT report in our book...LOL.

(P.S. JoT, the current bartenders at Marie's Crisis would know me as a cocktail waiter. I made drinks in the service bar area (no longer exists). I became an official bartender at a place called the Duplex which now is across the street, not two doors down from Marie's)

I've seen him in interviews and he always speaks so kindly of Freddie. He seems to have been a very trusted member of Freddie's inner circle, and appears often in pictures obviously performing his job but also seems almost a friend. Thor, I cannot comprehend how a stranger dares to contact you asking about Freddie and you . This implies to me that this persons is trying to get a timeline of Freddie's lovers and therefore trying to assertain if you are implicated in the HIV infection timeline. These trolls really upset me, I just don't get why people have to be so nasty and try to slander peoples good name for the sake of what.....Freddie isn't here anymore so they can't hurt him, only the people left behind. I'm waxing a bit and contemplating: to me Freddie is an amazing icon. His being gay is only but one facet of himself. Not unimportant, but I believe his light would have been as bright and dynamic no matter what his sexual orientation or preferences were. He had natural, raw talent. He was his very own performance art piece--ever changing, evolving, emoting, exploring.
He clearly had both masculine and feminine energy, like many humans do. He could nurture his friends and taking care of others, and he also had his own need to be taken care of, protected, and cherished. It all makes Freddie interesting.
For any fan to deny Freddie's own truth and subvert it to project their own fantasy of a bisexual (or even a struggling heterosexual) Freddie onto him is to deny Freddie himself, a special, unique and beautiful human.
At least, that's how I see the whole issue of "Freddie's sexuality."

Hey Blenkolove! - I'm in Colorado. Came out here in '84 for school and never left. I haven't been back to the Tampa Bay area since the late 80's but I would LOVE to. I miss grouper sandwiches!!! I still have friends back there and I've been thinking about planning a trip back.
