For our new French Member, Mary had 2 sons with her boyfriend at the time (Piers Cameron). This was in 1990 and then 1992. She then got married to another man in the later 1990s and that marriage ended a few years later.

Wow, talk about exciting developments! Welcome to the thread, Shaun, and thank you for sharing your experiences These first-hand insights are invaluable for us fans who didn’t know Freddie or his circle personally; each of them completes a piece of the puzzle, which would have otherwise been left to gossip and speculation. Thanks again for chiming in!
As for Mary, I have to admit I’ve always tried to reserve judgement, since we don’t know the full story and fans are often eager to jump down people’s throat without real evidence. After reading all of this, however, I’m finding it hard not to judge her negatively.
My speculation is that while Mary really cared about Freddie, she never got comfortable with his sexuality. She saw herself as his true love and the only one who could fulfill him emotionally, and regarded his gay life as a purely sexual diversion he couldn’t help but indulge in. She couldn’t accept that Freddie could form meaningful romantic relationships with anyone else, especially other men, and resented his gay circle for taking him away from her. She knew she had to tolerate it in order to stay in Freddie’s life, but as soon as he was gone, she wasted no time showing her true feelings. Sadly, It seems that the official Queen organisation is partial to this narrative as well, as obvious from the “saint Mary and the evil gays” storyline in the film . It’s just such a shame that people who were so close to Freddie and cared for him in the last years ended up being treated so callously by her.

Welcome, junealloway! And your English is just fine :)
Chevyman it is a big house for just her and her sons or just her if they have moved out. Perhaps she have moved back into the house she lived in before Freddie's death.
She must have really struggled with Jim living at Garden Lodge as she couldn't escape how Freddie had chosen to live his life. In the past it seems Freddie lived outside of the UK and so she wasn't subject to it and could therefore turn a blind eye.
What is interesting is Phoebe more or less says in his book that Freddie forego his friendship with Barbara for Mary as she felt threatened. He said that Mary got quite demanding.
I would love to be able to like her but I felt for Jim when I read his book, he was in such pain.

I go back and forth on the subject of Mary.
I would very much like to believe she was this nice, sweet caring friend of Freddie's....but I really can't, not 100 percent.
I do, have to give her credit for not writing a tell-all book after Freddie's death.
Still, it is my opinion, Mary felt betrayed by Freddie, hurt, sure, but, betrayed as well and, continued playing her part, biding her time, until she could get even.
Sure, I do believe she careful for Freddie but, he kinda made a fool of her and, she wasn't about to forget it.
I guess, in the end, she showed them all..... one of her comments, supposedly was....."I won."

But did she really win .What happened between kashmira and Mary does anyone know .
Chevyman, what makes you think Mary has moved out of Garden Lodge?
Several people have stated she does not live at Garden Lodge. Not sure where that info is from.
ANYWAY, back to the thread! Thor- was Freddie's NYC apartment decorated in a similar way to Garden Lodge? Did he have antiques there too?

I bet it was nice just like all his other places he had great taste.as for the question about garden lodge fans were putting candles out to celebrate and the keeper came out and removed them and said she no longer lives there. The keeper and one of her sons lives in the guest house. The keeper lives in the main part of the house.Maybe she just moved she is up in her age by now.
Chevy: Sounds like someone was lying because she sold the Mews guesthouse a few years ago
CHEVYMAN.....yes, I would say, she did win. She's rich, richer than she's probably ever imagined... without having to work (aside from the boutique, in the beginning.) She basically, has everything Freddie worked hard for and, all she had to do, was, get photographed smiling by his side, whenever he needed.
She stuck by him to the end, yes she did, but, look at the payoff.

I also heard/read, Mary bought a place around the corner from Garden Lodge and, has moved.... Garden Lodge is probably too big for her to keep up, there's probably someone who comes in and does whatever upkeep there is.
