Thor it's under control and noone was hurt. They think it could be linked to renovations. Phew

I have friends that are scared to go to London and travel on our underground. What a world we live in

News channels here say the fire is NOT under control...live video is continuing.

So sad seeing the pictures from Notre Dame. It's definitely not under control. I don't think they've even been able to get water to it yet. Flames are still spreading. So sad. Such a historic building. Built in the 1200s I think.

I must have been looking at a dud report
I can see now that it is still on fire.

Lee, I have heard of the Hells Angel's. I just have trouble with that name pink angels. Some of you guys looked very masculine.Im sorry but Thor looks masculine to me.If I didnt know he was gay and was walking down the street I would say he could pass for a straight man.Lee.I seen a recent pic of you on Instagram and you are gorgeous dude. You have aged well I understand if your single but you are a very nice looking fella.

Wow, what a milestone! Congratulations to all of us, but especially Thor and Lee for sticking around for the length of a pretty hefty novel (I’m counting the other two threads as well here).

Lee, thanks for chiming in! We might not get to hear from you that often, but it’s always a treat when you come back. That lobster story made my skin crawl, though. A few years ago I read the fantastic essay “Consider the Lobster” by David Foster Wallace on the subject (available here: http://www.theessayexperiencefall2013.qwriting.qc.cuny.edu/files/2013/11/Consider-the-Lobster_david-foster-wallace.pdf), and it completely cured me of any desire to ever try it. Boiling a living being alive for something as trivial as culinary pleasure...no thanks.

On the other hand, it's nice to know that Freddie liked and was concerned about the well-being of animals. Two stories from Jim's book come to mind: one where Freddie was very upset when Jim killed a deformed koi fish with a shovel (instead of doing it humanely with a special poweder), and the other where he was very concerned about the penguins during the I'm Going Slightly Mad video shoot and gave them water.

Freddiedarling, I'm sorry about your stick insect. Losing a pet always sucks.

Freddie also didn't want Jim to kill spiders, even if he was scared by those creatures!

Notre-Dame: This is devastating. The structure of the roof is from the middle ages. Some of it from the 13th century. And the spire just fell.

Welcome Radioblabla,
I am moved by the destruction of this building. A BIG welcome to you, if it is in keeping with the situation.

Oh no, the spire just fell. This is devastating.

Thank you Thor. I've been lurking for a while, enjoying your stories from afar.
I've said hello a week ago but my post has been lost in the middle of some drama. LOL

welcome radioblabla :)

Now I am very very nosey so I need to know where in the world you are lol ? I guessing the US :)

Thanks for all the welcome messages!

I have a question for Thor and Lee and it's purely speculative so shouldn't cause any problems with future publishers! What do you think Freddie would most enjoy about the present-time?

Also Lee, do you enjoy local theatre at all? I have a friend in Palm Springs and his partner is always pretty heavily involved as a performer and I believe most recently as artistic director for the Desert Rose Playhouse. They always seem to be having a good time!

Such a shame, it's history buring :(

It seems at the moment they managed to at least prevent spreading of the fire to the rest of the city and they were saying that they recovered a few of the paintings.
