Captainjory makes a good point. I got the impression that Freddie and Mary were soul mates. They connected in a way that few do. As I mentioned in Freddie's Loves, Jim was the closest we ever saw to someone coming into Freddie's life, and becoming as special to him, as Mary was.

At least with Freddie and Jim there didn't seem to be the guilt thing going on. Phoebe heavily implies Freddie was constantly compensating Mary out of guilt and that was the basis of their long friendship. He basically said it wasn't healthy lol

Well isn't THAT special. Ignore and isolate.

Not you captainjory

Thor, the vid above is quite amusing, whatever the poster meant by it - it's Freddie singing in his house and the title is just what he was singing! Click bait I guess!
Y
Yes it's Freddie singing exactly what the title says but TRUST ME the first time I saw that title on YouTube I was pissed too lol. But it's just Freddie joking around. I bet the sounds of his laugh in that video bring back some memories for y'all
T
Oops, I guess I jumped the gun, I don't like to see the word "fag", sorry.
Y
Me either. My friends always joke around and ask if it's ok if they use the word, and I always say no. I know they don't mean anything by it, but it's still offensive to me.
T
Thank you Villiers...I agree.

Even in gay liberal New York, Fag was still occasionally yelled from passing cars. I HATED that!

Lee and Thor.....(for Lee when he returns from party)
Speaking of starstruck......do u remember if Freddie was ever starstruck....and if so..by who?? Or could u think of anyone who might possibly have made him feel that way??
And contrary to a Previous post....i think this thread is amazing!!! THANK you both for sharing!! Xoxo

Actually that tape above is quite a bit longer in its entirety. It's Freddie, Mike Moran, Straker and a few others at Freddie's house. The first part of the tape is snippets from one show tune after another. I like when they get going on Summertime from Porgy and Bess. They seem to be challenging and trying to top each other with each song. I've only heard it once or twice because it does go on and on, but it is kind of fun. Lots of laughter. As for the word fag, I find it completely offensive, but could it be one of those instances where they can say it, but nobody else had better?

I hate the "F" word as much as women hate the "C" word. If I took it out of context...oh well.

It's funny......but I started re-reading Phoebe's first book today in a hot salt bath (my therapy) and it's reading sooooo different to me this time because Thor and Lee have such respect and kind words for Phoebe, I'm experiencing it in a Totally new light!!!!!! When I first read it a few months ago....i wasn't sure of Phoebe's m.o.......and seeing him in interviews he comes across as almost too Nice.....if ya get my drift. But these forums have cleared my vision and enhanced my perspective!! TY
Also...Phoebe's book has many picture of NY daughters that i look at completely differently now....it's nice to be able to put a Person to the faces I'm seeing!! It's almost like I know you Both!!!
T
Thank you Blenkolove,
Much appreciated. A person could have no better friend than Peter Freestone. Freddie was quite lucky.
B
No, THANK YOU!!!! I Think you Both have done a great service by clearing up so very many misconceptions that have apparently circulated for too many years!!!!
As I've stated before.....it's almost like the more I read about Freddie....the More questions I had. But reading All your stories and accounts....i feel assured that the Freddie I saw intuitively IS the Freddie that existed.....And that feels right!!!
