Oh, don't worry, I will tell you guys everything without giving away anything that is surprising. I certainly won't be able to critique the portrayal of Freddie prior to 1980, but I will be able to see if post-1980 up until 1991 is truthfully accounted for. It will be interesting to say the least!
I suspect there will be a lot of Mary in the movie and rightfully so. When Freddie was in London, Mary either lived next to him or actually with him. He valued and trusted her completely. What will be interesting is if they portray Mary as a very special friend (who knew Freddie was gay) or if they try to stir up straight or bisexual longings of Freddie which some fans still believe, even post their break-up.as a couple. Hey, I had girlfriends from 7th until 11th grade, but I knew who I really was behind this "attempt" at covering-up.for convenience of going to school hassle-free.

I don't want to stir any pots here, but how many have heard Peter Freestone speak on about the movie? He makes such an important distinction and I wish everyone could hear and understand what he is saying. There will be inconsistencies, questionable timelines, etc, but he says it is so important to remember that this is a film meant for entertainment, it is not a documentary. I'm delighted that so many new people will be introduced to Freddie and Queen. They won't notice problems that die hard fans will see, but they will enjoy the movie and I'm happy for anything that keeps Freddie's legacy alive. I hope desperately that people will just enjoy this film and avoid nitpicking it to pieces.
I think I was moved to write this post because I've just come from FB where people are arguing bitterly over timeline.
Going back to my quiet corner now...………….

My biggest hope for the movie is that neither John and Roger are portrayed as bit players, while Brian is portrayed as the other genius of Queen.

By the way, Lee reminded me just yesterday that Freddie had told him more than once, "Kathleen, make these photos WORK for you!"
This was said for one last time when he escorted Lee around his beloved garden in June of 1991.
So it seems clear that Lee had/has his permission. Lee hated and was so let down by recently reading the eight page trollathon.
Now, however, he agrees with our renewed "ignore" policy when dealing with trolls on both QZ and FB.
As my beloved mother used to always say, despite of her worsening Parkinson's Disease over 10 years, "Better Days are Coming."
Yeah right and Freddie had nothing better to do in June 1991 than telling you to publish a book with private pictures. How dumb do you chaps think we are??? And for "Not being Freddie's lover" you had a lot of indiscreet things about him to say in "Freddie's Loves" right? Remember that "he could not get it up" statement ? Give it up man.......it is getting far beyond embarrasing....
Same stupid statements like "Paul Rodgers was Freddie's fave singer" and "Freddie would have Loved Lambert": Pathetic. And why are all critics "trolls"? Because they refuse asskissing someone making money with private stuff from a so-called "dear friend"???

YOu will get exactly that
Hi Thor and Lee,
You mentioned last year that you had Queen merchandise that Freddie had given you back in the early 80's. I am assuming you meant tour t-shirts. Did you keep any of those shirts? If so, are you wearing one to movie premiere or is that too "uncool" to do? I have a few Queen and Freddie shirts...and I am definitely NOT very cool...so I will proudly wear one when I see the film. :)

Oops....left out a word....."to the movie premiere."
Well sure I'll wear one of the teeshirts that Freddie gave me in the early eighties...it might still fit...
ON ONE ARM!....LOL
ON ONE ARM!....LOL
Oh Thor hush! You look great. You can probably still slide it on no problem. Your name is unique enough it would be interesting to see if they tossed a background character in there named Thor. Maybe at the party scene?
Thor,
So funny...that was my chuckle for the night! :)

Snort, Thor, that was funny.
Does anyone know if tickets for the movie are available for pre-sale in the US? I thought I saw a site where I could order some, but I wasn't able to find the link to do it. I know I can't go the weekend it opens because I have other stuff going on, but I want to see it as soon as I can and I think it is going to be hard to get tickets. Maybe we can go in the middle of the afternoon. Surely tickets would be available then.

Katydyd5,
Try googling FANDANGO. All you do is put in your zip code and they tell you the nearest theaters and the times it is playing. You buy your ticket right online. Lee and I are going to see the premiere in Palm Springs, on Nov. 1st.
This won't be anywhere near festivities of the premiere in Los Angeles, but I am happy to see it with the two living other people who knew Freddie - Lee and my x, Brandon. It should be fun with all three of us there.

Oops....it should read, "This won't be anywhere near THE festivities going on in Los Angeles OR NEW YORK,".
Did you buy your tickets already Thor? I"m smack in the middle of the Mid-West, so no festivities here. But there is a lot of talk among my friends and my kids' friends, so I expect it to be very popular. Maybe I will try Fandango because I'm not going to be able to wait long.
I did buy my tickets yesterday and they were not sold out yet, and believe me, if there is a city where there
will be an immense interest in this film, it is definitely the residents of Palm Springs, California.
