Concerns about the Movie

I hope so....Barcelona is one of my favorite albums he did. I was listening to the remake with the real orchestra the other day. Not as good as the original, but still had good moments.

Inasmuch as it's a shame not to tell the 'whole' story - do we really need another assemblage of AIDS porn?

That UK TV documentary from last year with John Blunt was a maudlin, low rent joke - it really was just 90 minutes of Freddie hanging out with different people saying "I have AIDS darlings!" and then dropping dead.

If people really need a visual re-enactment of his last years, I guess they can hunt that thing down - but it's pretty much all in books already. A good movie (and I have no idea if this is going to be a good one or not) has a trajectory of its own. You might find that ending on Live Aid, or being book-ended by Live Aid, or however they're doing it - might be the best presentation for the bits of the story that they'd like to tell.

This is why there are good autobiographies that don't end with the author writing "oh .. oh God it's coming, I can feel the end - bluuuarrggh!" before the pen trails off the page.

I am more concerned about maliks singing. Freddies voice is so unique and irreplacable that imo all, beside speaking, should be His voice. Any singer singing queen ends up with a louzier result then the original.

True, even good singers sound off singing Queen songs. That's why I'm hoping they use freddie's Voice for the movie.

Unless I misheard, they have a mimic doing the singing voice that sounds a lot more like Freddie than Rami is ever going to look like him.

I should think that one glaring lack of resemblance would trump the other.

I think Marc Martel has done some vocal work for the film. I’d like to know who has recorded the other parts....I can’t imagine Brian and Roger have re-recorded anything so which musicians will they have on the soundtrack?

^ they damn well BETTER HAVE recorded their own parts. (*possibly excluding Roger for faster drumming.)

John of course. ..keep his old bass lines. Maybe sub them in from all the live multi tracks they don't share for sale or rent.

We all know how the story ended, but there are many who know the songs but dont know the faces nor the story . They say the band wants to keep the story clean and end on a high. Thats fine but its not being totally true. My opinion, if the movie is sugar coated then it will not be a success. This is the problem when close friends or family make a movie rather than just be a part of the production to lend information. This movie could be mega if its done right. Not raunchy but you have to raise a few eyebrows.

I agree! I Don't want them glorifying Excess, drugs and all that, but it has to be part of the movie. Even if only a small part. Most of the movie should concentate on the music of course. His battle with Aids should also have a small part towards the end. Erasing that part of his history is erasing reality.

Mike hunt - I totally agree with you. If you havent seen Sasha Baron Cohen on his last appearance of Howard Stern snow you should talk a look. He explains it pretty well.

Freddie was not the first rock star to die from A.I.D.S. There are/were others...that we know about that is. There was Ricky Wilson from The B-52s and Jobriath.

Both who should get their own films as well...

Again there are multiple movies and or film that could not only tell the story of QUEEN but different films that could tell different stories. So whatever this does not end up being could end up being something else in the long run...
