I think it will be best to create individual threads when the time comes, and a collaborations compilation is long overdue too.
4 - The Collaborations collection (QueenZone curated compilation)
- Limited to 1 or 2 discs in order to compile the best tracks (1 per artist - exceptions allowed)
- This is meant to omit those that can be easily found on official releases, but exceptions may be in order.
- Bonus: collaborations from other artists in songs performed by Queen(+) (mostly live performances, there are lots of them in great quality)

Bump! A couple things:
1 - A fifth idea was mused in the Announce section:
5 - QueenZone's Opera Omnia
A collection of every song performed live by Queen.
- A QueenZone expert can lead the project, but any other members can have their input too.
- One song version only! Exceptions can be made upon reaching consensus.
- Some medleys can be conflictive regarding the previous rule. Consensus required!
- Bonus: solo performances.
2 - I'm done compiling tracks for my Unusual collection! Some facts:
- I decided to unify my archives (that includes everything I can have in digital form) as a personal project in order to properly preserve everything I own (still months of work ahead). I went through several hard drives and about 400 disks, both originals and CDr. Some things were very sparse. Including some duplicates, I think it totals about 80 GB of Queen related music (studio recordings mostly), accounting for lossy and lossless sources.
- I destroyed a TON of crap (degraded disks, poor quality recordings, etc.). I got a lot of free space at home in return! Funny how a collector gathers so much clutter in no time, and that needs to be managed.
- There's 248 files I've compiled for this project. I think I will trim this down to about 40-50 tracks at most when all is said and done.
- Next step: I'm not sure about the origins of some recordings, so I will upload them here in order to clarify things. I think I can do that tomorrow.
- Next step after that: I'm hoping to upload my compilation a week or two from now. It'll just be the first version, since as I mentioned, I want this to be a collaborative project where other collectors can provide interesting additions and better sources than the ones I have.
- Bonus: while going through some Roger tracks, an album tag claimed to be a bootleg titled "Mr. Taylor goes to a clambake". Good fun.
Again, don't get too excited because I'm sure there aren't actual, never before heard rarities. Still, I think some moderately experienced collectors might be surprised. In the end, I'm just doing this for everybody's fun. I'm also tidying things up in the meantime, as all my Queen stuff is not conveniently compiled at the moment. I was surprised to find a few things I didn't remember.

For CD 1, include the SNAFF from either Stuttgart 1984 or Japan 1985

Yay, "The Unusual Collection" is complete! 5 volumes, 150 tracks, 8+ hours of crap! OK, hopefully there is decent stuff in there as well.
