Not so sure about that. Many strong movies come out in January / February, as it's so close to the Golden Globes and Oscars. I was hoping that at least the lead performance would be worthy and could compete for some awards, but perhaps it's no longer the case.

Checked some big winners from the Oscars this year. Shape of water had premiere 1.decemeber and The Darkest hour in November. So awards is still very possible if the movie and the actors is good enough.
