This can be the next official release, if they decide to release it.

I would hope for a 4K UHD HDR release of Budapest and/or Montreal These are the only concerts that would benefit such a release assuming they had the forward thinking of scanning and archiving the masters to 4K way back when.

Hopefully they would do a better version of Montreal this time!

I recently contacted Eagle Rock about this as they would probably understand more than QP bty have not yet had a reply.

AFAIK, there has yet to be a music concert release on 4K UHD so this could be a 'world first' !

"In all seriousness - i really hope they do Greatest Flix I, II and III on blu ray - or better yet in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos or DTS X."

POINTLESS releasing anything made in SD video to 4k HDR. They go away with it (JUST) doing Rainbow and Hammy 75 in HD/BD but it was mere;y upscaled SD.
I would rather they released the the original flix 1, 2 and 3 in HD Blu ray and if possible and if available re-scan and restore any original film elements (for those that were shot on film) to HD and in OAR of course.

Dolby Atmos may be beneficial but it lends itself more to feature films than music promos/concerts. I could be wrong!

I’d love a few more albums (Queen II, ADATR, Jazz and The Miracle particularly) in proper 5.1 surround releases, but instead I think that ship has sailed and Brian has lost interest in that.

Dr Magnus : You are off your head wanting Adam Lambert on the front cover of Wembley 86. Freddie is on the front cover for a reason, because Queen was his invention and he as worked damn hard to get the band popular over the years. Freddie was / is the spirit of Queen forever.
Adam Lambert not worthy at all for any Queen product.
Maybe suitable for a Muppets Dvd release though.

Are you telling me you can't spot sarcasm even when it's THAT obvious?

Oh, and Queen wasn't Freddie's invention - at best, it was half his invention (share of songwriting in the early period), in reality either a quarter or a third (founding members).

thomasquinn 32989, re:

We cut to a bloke called Bulsara with some dodgy teeth and a slightly effeminate gait, gambolling down Kensington High Street in 1970, who, suddenly, stops in his tracks. He taps a random passer by on the shoulder:

"I've had this brilliant, nay, GENIUS half of an idea to give the following name to a new band that I'd like some of my acquaintances, who are in a band called Smile to be in with me. It shall be called Queen."
"Are you sure that's not a complete idea; you sound pretty sure?"
"No - only half an idea - I'm not sure it'll sell or whether they will take it on."

That same chap called Bulsara is next seen perched on top of an amplifier, addressing 3 musicians.

"OK - I have half an idea that our band should be called Queen."
"Yes - I think we should call it Queen" they all say in unison.

A short time later, having assumed lead singer duties in the band he only half named, Bulsara walks into the room that Queen are due to begin rehearsing in:

"What's that in your hand?"
"A piece of paper with half an idea for a logo that our band that I only half thought should be called Queen could use."
"It's brilliant, looks like you've used all of our star signs to create it........."
"I have, indeed, yes."
"Let's use that."

So, there we have a bloke that came up with the name, the logo and persuaded three members of a band called Smile to begin a new band.

Can't see how ANYONE would attribute it's creation to Frederick Bulsara at all.........

lol! And I'll bet it wasn't Fred who suggested they name the band Build Your Own Boat.

Of course, conceptually Queen was largely Freddie's creation. The name, the logo, their look, and their stage presentation - all his.

But their sound mostly came from Brian and Roger at first. Listen to the Smile material from 1969, and then listen to Freddie's material with Ibex. The former was basically the Queen sound, and the latter was pretty awful.

Whatever was in Mercury, it took the others to bring it out of him. A true collaboration it was.

There is a lot of sarcastic people on here, making fun of Freddies teeth and camp gentle nature, yet they are supposed to be the fans?
Mr May & Taylor would not have been so massive if Freddie had not got involved and changed vital things, like the bands name, what direction they had to go in and what style of music they should do. Freddie was a real wizard of music he had the other threes destiny mapped out right from the start. We don't call him king Mercury for nothing you know!

Yes and you could very easily make the claim that had Freddie not met Rogrt and Brian he'd still be a market trader. . .

I've made the same point to you before with regard to Smile and Brian. And Rogers influence over what Freddie had to offer on the early albums, i seem to recall you dismissed that view than and went on to claim that Queen was all Freddie. . . . It wasn't.
