On the "Q+AL studio album in 2018" point we would expect to see some activity by now...

Queen + Paul Rodgers: Paul sings your favorite Queen songs!

Disclaimer: no actual Queen members play in this album.

Lets hope the Queen + Adam Lambprick album never happens, that would be a car crash no what we need is REAL Queen product not spinal tap on Cd.

Queen Rock Montreal in UHD Bluray is something will eventually happen.
I think they should record a covers album with Adam Lambert playing classics like Life on Mars?, Communication Breakdown or the Abbey Road suite instead of writing new songs.

Hyde Park `76 would be the best, but I think only a big dream

News of The World - 41st Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition

In all seriousness - i really hope they do Greatest Flix I, II and III on blu ray - or better yet in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos or DTS X.

By the way, any word on that Brian May box set? If this is a slow year, perhaps it could be the right time to release it.

I'm still waiting for the remasters of "Mr Bad Guy" and "Barcelona" which were done for release in 2016, but we got "Messenger Of The Gods" instead :(

Mr.Bad Guy doesn't need a new remaster....It's bloody brilliant the way it is....lol....Barcelona would be nice, one of my all time favorites. A remaster with a deluxe version.

To be honest we do not want anything remastered at all, we NEW things to crow over. i am tired of remasters and compilation albums, surely there must be more unheard stuff in the archives and Brian and Rogers personal collections ? They owe it to us and it is badly overdue.

Vince: i think Queen should NEVER record with Lambprick. Touring is one thing to make fools out of them but recordings last a lifetime. !

Fuck remastering. Only pretentious idiots claim to hear a difference. The best versions are always the first editions. Remastering = LOUDNESS WAR!!! For the new generation who listen to music through headphones on their way to work....

Nope. Not only pretentious pricks. There's always a difference. While i find it interesting that many people here have been able to isolate remaster sources per reach compilation, a typical album mastered in the 80's will definitely sound different with a modern take.

Sometimes sounds ARE raised and compressed, but they also tend to be frequency isolated and placed in a very particular spatial environment.

I've heard both good and bad, ....bad being Depeche Mode's SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION (5.1 DVD mix) : it sounded nearly the same even with spatial workings of the added channels.

Still, depending on moods and equipment ambient noise and attention you can realize that some sonic things are relative to your frame of mind

Some 80's albums in the new age of DDD encoding were notoriously bad. Prince's early 80's output sounded flat, (except Dirty Mind) but warm and big on vinyl.

Some albums were mastered for Dolby and include warm white noise flub that some people can't hear. Remasters tend and TREND towards isolating certain instrumentation and bumping it to an isolated relative frequency. This prevents it from stepping over others, and notably - the New SGT PEPPER mixes created false separate isolated values for instrument via modern sound manipulation. Instead of being bound together, they tend to taper them to relative frequencies (at least this is what i hear) which creates discernment without clutter. BUT they DO tend to elevate the amplitude and shelve frequencies.

Go with your research and selections.

Hell, there were times i was grateful just to HEAR some songs that were damn near impossible to find (but mentioned in books) growing up in the 90's.

BTW: anybody have an HD version of THE BIGGLES : NO TURNING BACK

I'd like to see another Wembley 86 release but with Adam Lambert on the cover. I'm just sick of seeing Freddie on all the covers. Come on QPL sort it out.
