Was at the venue that night with no tickets, hoping to buy from touts, but they were asking £70 each ! And we couldn't afford 2. My wife insisted I get 1 and she'd wait outside, but I wouldn't and lo, Freddie goes past in his roller! - at least that was memorable.
Seen Al Pacino the next or maybe 2 nights, later at the duke of York's theatre in 'American Buffalo' got photos, shook his hand and an autographed programme. Quite a weekend.

I saw Queen in the Uk at the Birmingham NEC back in sept 1984 and they were on fire !
Awesome show and they surprised the fans by playing "Great king rat"

Of course I regretted it O.H. - but I done the right thing, couldn't lea 've my young wife on the streets of London for a couple of hours. The £70 price was for a , less than a tenner ticket, that was quite a hike in those days

happystar did you go on September 1st or another day? If you did go on the 1st I have some jealousy(no pun intended) because at that concert, Brian May did the solo from Dead On Time during the improv section from KYA.

OhioMustapha : Well 1984 was a very long time ago and i think Queen only did a couple of shows at Birmingham NEC and to be really honest i cannot remember what the date was that we went but it was awesome. Freddie wearing his white ballet suit with black flashes on it ! One thing i did note was how colourful the lighting rig was and it certainly enhanced all the excitement.
