I was wondering if they could have brought back other songs instead of GKR and SCC. I was thinking of these songs:
The Millionaire Waltz
March Of The Black Queen
White Queen
Sweet Lady
Im In Love With My Car
Death On Two Legs
If You Cant Beat Them
Sleeping On The Sidewalk
Ogre Battle

You actually guessed some of them right. Here's a list of tunes they rehearsed in 84:
Great King Rat (longer version)
Brighton Rock (full song)
I'm In Love With My Car
Sweet Lady
White Man
We Will Rock You (fast)
Play The Game
Need Your Loving Tonight
Put Out The Fire
Las Palabras de Amor
Life Is Real (both Freddie solo piano and Freddie/Brian acoustic duet versions)

...evidence or just fantasy?

I always liked Car live, it's great to see Roger steal the show from behind the kit. Would've been nice to see past the Game tour.

I got the list from someone who worked for the band and was there.

Certainly not in Brussels. By that point they had done full tech rehearsals, and the rejected songs were long gone.
Queen weren't like Springsteen with 80 songs and a giant rotating setlist. They rehearsed one show, and usually just changed around 1 or 2 songs from night to night.

Can you imagine how awful Sweet Lady would've sounded in '84?

Dear Real Wizard,
Nice and intriguing piece of information. Maybe your friend could write a blog?
Cheers

I'm trying. Imagining the horrible synths on top of that awkward song.

The only song I'm really surprised they dropped is Keep Yourself Alive. It even suits Paul Rodgers' voice better than some of the songs they asked him to sing.
