The only song I'm really surprised they dropped is Keep Yourself Alive. It even suits Paul Rodgers' voice better than some of the songs they asked him to sing. [/QUOTE]

Yeah, there have been a few which have been reintroduced since Rodgers that I have thought would have suited him.

I'm not sure how they developed the setlists with PR, but a telling remark in an interview with him at the time was that he didn't like singing "very wordy songs" and "preferred songs with space in them".

I do know that during rehearsals he was having problems with Hammer to Fall, which may have led to the re arranged slow version. .

Queen set lists were more exciting in foreign countries for there fans especially the japanese fans who got extra treats from the band.
Uk got same old set lists and nothing special either! What disappointed me was songs never changed very much from one tour to another, the perennial anthems remained
and they never explored songs they had ignored like "Who needs you" or "Funny how love is"

Reminds me of a few years ago when someone was arguing with Bob about live killers and using Queenlive.ca's live killer analysis to prove him wrong.

No, they were arguing with Guitar Hero ;-)

Great to hear they have tried las palabras for the setlist during the works tour. Maybe it comes out for a anniversairy box of the works

Did queen ever did a soundcheck for Keep passing the open windows ?

Maybe there is a website where all the soundchecks over the years has been written down ?

The Prophet's Song would have been nice.

As far as I know, these are the only circulating recordings of Queen soundchecks.

No idea if they ever tried Keep Passing the Open Windows. But apparently Long Away made it that far in early 77.

Don't forget Hammersmith '75 if you've got the £££££

I love the 1984 set list, my only change would be removing Edney's awful synthesiser solo and adding March of the Black Queen to the medley instead.

Full or just the shortened one?

The setlist and set were great. The lighting rig had a huge presence. Roger's use of electric pad/triggers wasn't good.

The Keyboard solo grow out of an idea to play Machines or back to Humans, which they didn't rehearse and never played, but decided to use as a keyboard solo and extended break for Roger and Freddie, leading into Brian's solo.
