Combine that with our previous conservative prime minister dismantling our gun registry (which means even the legal guns can't be traced) which led to a surge of firearms making their way across the border. Gun violence is rising in Canada, and this is why.
There is blood on so many people's hands, and virtually all of them are on the right side of the aisle, in both countries.
But at least the city of Toronto voted today to pass new gun laws. This is how it's done. The US could learn a lot from this, but of course the NRA won't budge.

White guys ran the show for centuries. They were the emperors, monarchs, politicians, law enforcement, language codifiers, and got all the jobs (with extremely rare exceptions).
it wasn't until the last 50 years or so that women and minorities began to enter the workplace and other positions of influence in greater numbers. So naturally, while white males who formerly had easier access to the positions they wanted now have more competition.
And since there has been so much attention on women and minorities while this change has taken place, plenty of white men feel left out. And in more extreme cases, they become alt right or incels, blaming women and minorities for their lack of success in life that used to be more easily guaranteed.
In other words - now they know what everyone else has been feeling for centuries or even millenia. Every other demographic has been judged based on their sex and place of origin. White males never have.
(This is obviously written from a western perspective. In Japan, for instance, white males experience what minorities have experienced in the US.)
These guys need to learn some basic history and suck it up.

Nah, it's not that black and white. Rednecks are all over the country.
This is just the same old right wing rhetoric. We have a gun lobby too, but it's not nearly as powerful as the NRA.
Toronto just had a shooting that killed two people, and the federal government is considering banning the sale of hand guns. The lobby doesn't stand a chance against common sense.

Some very narrow perspectives are being displayed here. Please just look at the numbers and see how dumb it is to throw a term like white privilege around regarding shootings.
Or, if you don't like looking stuff up, just listen to someone like Ben Shapiro for instance. He's talked about it enough that a simple youtube search should suffice.
