I was at this show. It really was great and perhaps the loudest concert I have ever been to. Will never forget it.

Thank you Bob another kind share.

Sounds distorted. Not bad, but wouldn't describe this sound as excellent. Not even for an 80s tape.

The distortion has been introduced at some point during the lossy transfer.
The master tape of this source is clean.

Is that your way of saying you're about to post your copy for everyone to compare?

Does this post mark the return of "The Kurgan"? Or as he is now known "Blank Space"!

I'm a taper. Don't get me wrong, I understand the sentiment of keeping tapes uncirculated. I rarely share my tapes. But when I do circulate them, I make sure I share in the best possible quality. Lossy tranfers with distortion make no sense to me at all.

.
I guess you will have to ask the taper why some people only got a lossy transfer with distortion.

There are at least two more mundane explanations for the distorted sound.
1. The master tape did not survived as well as your copy. This is the point of making safety copies.
2. The taper made some eq which enhanced the distorsions.

I guess I don't care enough to ask you for more info or to do a possible trade. I'm 99% done trading anyway.

Oh snap. I guess a certain someone's carrot dangling won't be able to stand up to such information.

I've actually heard a transfer of the copy in question - it's not nearly as good as this. I just thought I'd play along for a while to see if the bear wanted to come out and play. I guess not.
