I've got a rough Vocal recorded. Will do a 2nd take too.

I'm not at home right now, so I don't have my gear around. I'll start work on the bass track next sunday.

I have now made an effort on some vocals. Hopefully I can at least motivate people to have a go. Either because you can do lots better than me, or because I inspired you to new heights ;)

I used the multitrack posted here and singing over it. I have not mixed anything, and I made the instruments lower to hear the vocals better. I did no harmonies for this at all.

Do I sense a hint of Live Magic phrasing from you Chief?

Definitely some Live Magic vibes from Chief Mouses performance. Sounded excellent that.

Another thing. Do we want to make changes to the original melody line? Could make it a bit more interesting. I consider to do one take quite close to the original, and one with some alternative melody line.

I guess what happens in the mix is up for the mixers. I kind of like the idea of blending several together for parts and having different solo lines etc.

We will see how it goes now. I dont think I will do a lot more before I see that this is going ahead. Knowing the amount of talent in here its not going to halt due to ability. Hope to see many contributions soon. :)

I was thinking of changing one little/big thing: what if we give the song a real ending? We don't get to hear the whole "I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside" chorus as the song fades out early, but we could recreate the way it probably went originally. Perhaps add some drums and guitar to make it end like live tracks do.

At the very least we could try it both ways, and see the best result in the mix.

The sing along end would be nice for those of us who can't sing :)

Or we could go full Live Magic and have it end with the A Kind Of Magic :D

I'll also have a crack at the vocals but it's a bit out of my reach.
