Some interesting parallels with Freddie. She also started singing by ear as a child and started piano.
I love the album Barcelona too.

Fucking asshole ruining a thread about MC
Rest in Peace Monserrat Caballe.........you were more than a gifted opera singer, you showed you were approachable and gracious and with a great sense of humour. I saw on a you tube video how you supported Freddie's parents during the unveiling of his statue in Switzerland. Respect.

No - you did that with your abuse.
I was trying to be light hearted. The fact I quoted and wholeheartedly agreed with Holly shows my true feelings, but I didn't want it to be a completely sad thread. I had paid my respects elsewhere.
It was a joke, given that Paul Rodgers was supposed to be "Freddie's favourite singer" (although we all know that Montserrat was up there!). It was maybe not to your taste, but certainly not intended to offend.
I shouldn't have to explain myself to you, and I refer you to my first response. I don't care what YOU think.

Another spot on response. I remember crying when I saw footage of the unveiling, particularly at her reaction. I shall be listening to Barcelona later!
She was a real friend of Freddie.
