Roger's answer "spending his money" - when questioned what's doing John - was clearly pointing to John's lack of support for the band.
A disrespectful answer in return for a perceived disrespectful attitude.

"I think the Queen and Paul Rodgers stuff was mediocre. While I respect Queen, and I like Paul Rodgers, and the bands he's been in, The Cosmos Rocks didn't seem like something enjoyable. You'd have to be absolutely shit faced to enjoy it, and once you enjoy it at the height of a buzz, perhaps it'd just throw you in a rage of anger. 'Say It's Not True' was great until Paul started singing on it. 'Cosmos Rockin'' certainly attracted the ten year old Queen fans:

As for Adam Lambert, he is a joke. He looks like a fat man trying to dance. He's one of the newly released gay guys that tries so hard to be sexy, that it's boring. No tease at all, just clumsy movements. It looks as if he's struggling to breathe while on stage... sheer heart attack! His sex appeal (if you can call it that) attracts nerdy, lonely teenyboppers... oh, you know, the ones who cry themselves to bed at night, wondering why they can't get a boyfriend. His second big fan base includes fat, jobless, government money grubbing, Republican women. Adam's vocals would be perfect for the backgrounds on a Paris Hilton album. His solo albums forgotten, his lack of song writing talent remembered.
Brian May and Roger Taylor don't do it for the money, they do it because they want to feel important. Everyone needs a reason to wake up in the morning. I'd hate to be remembered for things only from when I was young, as well. God, it must suck being old. Wouldn't it be a terrible existence if we woke up and felt the need to create selfie videos on our exercise bicycles to post on Instagram?
I'm not sure why John should associate himself with any of that, I'd rather be at the neighborhood bar as well!"
