Interesting read! He must be the first one to bring up cancelled interviews...
Wow, great find. Very interesting... in one moment he seems to really dislike all the band, but in the next claim he spent 3 months to attend Freddie's birthday despite no longer working for the band... also suggested he saw them in Slane also.
Tbh, before reading this article i had presumed PP's era was '77 to '86.... but he mentions that he was around when they recording Bo Rhap... So if he did 9 and a half years as he said, that'll be mid 75 to late 84/early 85?
Fascinating to hear his take on the interview situation... almost like he's sticking up for himself beyond the grave... the idea that Freddie would cancel at the last minute for interviews, does sound entirely plausible... which then could explain why PP would be fed up and just tell the radio station that Freddie didn't want to talk etc.
There's too much evidence in the contrary for me to change my mind on him, also you can tell in the way he speaks, he's not genuine. Really makes it seem like he had no interest in parties or the lifestyle, and he was the responsible one. He seems very bitter and that in itself, makes me wonder if what he's saying is true.
Interesting read. Tbh he comes over as a bit of self righteous cunt
Just my opinion.....
Wow. Thank you Joxer, this is a great find and very interesting. So Paul turned down requests to return to his old post did he?!!! ???? Yep of course he did, the lying, self righteous twat. The interview has sour grapes written all over it.
"69 gigs in 73 days"
Thats Rock 'n Roll to you
Top news here. What a dick, but I keep thinking about those cancelled interviews that Brian talked about a couple years ago, and now reading this from 1987.
Ugh this guy really thinks his shit doesn’t stink.
Most annoying thing when he said “we recorded Bohemian Rhapsody”. No it wasn’t “we”, Paul. You were simply in the studio watching history. Being bored in the studio happens, especially when he people actually peforming are perfectionists...Plus it was your job to be there, gimme a break. I think of much worse jobs.
This guy was a dope.
Yes, but he brought up the interviews being canceled before Brian did.
Freddie and the others were no idiots, right? they had high education and they were mature people when Queen took off and never felt you were in the presence of naive rock stars.
So how come this person called Paul Pranter managed to deceive(trick, hoax, dupe, take in, mislead, delude, fool, outwit, misguide, lead on, seduce) Freddie and the others for so many years?
It doesn't add up, thats why I think the truth might be somewhere in the middle, probably the band used him and humiliated him in the same deceiving manner.
I haven't read the whole thing yet but some of these titbits are interesting. So he was actually around in '75?
And I can totally believe about interviews - Freddie cancelling so he just thought there's no point in getting these things booked in. Anyone who has ever had a job of any substance will sympathise!
If he was around in 75 surely there would be photos of him with the band from this period. Don't think i've ever seen any.
