Congrats to them on that. I didn't like the movie, but my positive take on it is that Queen's music (the real star of the film) is so loved, it's responsible for those wins ??

Oops...I see that smile emojis come up as question marks here - lol

Well done to them. As you mentioned Queenfan09, Queen's music is still front and centre after all these years!

That’s fucking gold,

Won’t stop the naysayers banging on about how shit it is, though.

So to summarize:

In the span of one week, Brian May did the New Years countdown for NASA, and then is present at the Golden Globes where his biopic wins best drama of the year.

Cue the forum trolls to chime in, nonetheless.

Amazing, memorable week for Brian for sure.
I was surprised when Rami won, I almost couldn't believe it won for best drama. Very moving.
I'm not a troll, honest ;-).

Obviously this is a partisan crowd at QZ, but that really shows up the GGs to be an absolute farce. When you know the voting structure of these things, it makes perfect sense though. Regardless, well done all.

There's one thing that bothered me about the awards and that's that John Deacon was never mentioned in either of the acceptance speeches.I thought for sure he'd get a mention in the Best Drama speech ,but nothing..

Heck I have mixed views on the film that have been expressed by many in here. However, with the love of rehashing successful material do you think the sequel will be called "Radio Gaga" and tell the same story from Roger's point of view??

Surprised it won, but fair play to everyone involved with it, next stop the Oscars I guess.

Rami Malek thanked him on the speech for the whatever award he got before GG.

I found the film entertaining but not exactly award-worthy. Congarts to Malek, though, who did a fine job.

Anything to make Queen better known to the masses and raise new fans is great in my book :-)

I had mixed feelings about the film. My friends asked me - knowing I'm a big big fan - what I thought. I said, that would I have been responsible, the film would have had a length of 138 hours and would have been more than accurate.

Now, It is true, anything making Queen great is good. We would not get any snippet of anything rare if the Queen machine would stop rolling. Some of my reserved friends cried when seeing the film. Freddie said, make me anything but boring. So i guess the movie has his aproval ;)
