There's one thing that bothered me about the awards and that's that John Deacon was never mentioned in either of the acceptance speeches.I thought for sure he'd get a mention in the Best Drama speech ,but nothing..
Rami Malek thanked him on the speech for the whatever award he got before GG.

I found the film entertaining but not exactly award-worthy. Congarts to Malek, though, who did a fine job.
no need to thank him as didn't contribute with anything for this movie

Both Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Whishaw were at the GG and nominated for awards. Ben won but SBC did not.

So happy for the Queen family and legacy!

Anything to make Queen better known to the masses and raise new fans is great in my book :-)
Ditto. Very well said.

Cheers,

What an exciting and thrilling night! I’m glad I got to watch the GG show with my mother, who used to stand in line (while I was in class) to buy Queen tickets for me and my friends. And she attended several Queen concerts with me in the 1970’s and several now with Paul & Adam.

When Rami won I was so happy! He deserved it and it was expected that he had a good chance. But when Bohemian Rhapsody won Best Picture - Drama .... I said (with a lump in my throat), “Oh my God! I can’t believe it!” And my mother calmly said, “Well, you would have been very disappointed if it had not won.” And she was right.

I love the pictures on Brian’s Twitter!

Ditto what ppl said here. Glad it keeps interest in the band beyond super fans. Only wish they'd give us super fans something good from their archives. Don't care if there's feedback.

ANYWAYS. .. SBC was nominated for something? Had no idea he did anything.

Ben Whitshaw was GREAT in Mary Poppins Returns.(*free screening) .. too bad the film was mostly turd with very un memorable songs. The lead was uncharismatic same with the lamp lighter.
Whitshaw was great but it felt like he was in a completely different film. After watching him, it ocurred to me that he wouldn't have made a good Freddie.

BTW: It was great to see Brian in the front. Unmistakable hair. I didn't care to watch more than about 5 minutes.

the movie was ok and we all know it was far from perfect but overall kinda fun to watch on the big screen.

glad it won. but the opening monologue was in bad taste I thought. I mean talking about exhuming his body for his teeth?

Good News!

But the main actors's facial features (exept of Rami Malek whos look with some reservations close to Mercury's ) make me unstoppable facepalm till my nose sink below the level of a cheekbones

Was there an afterparty disco?

Saw both Bo Rhap and 'A Star Is Born' in the same week in huge cinema in Montreal, Canada.
I liked 'A Star Is Born' a lot more.

But I was very happy to see that the North-American audience seemed to love Queen again.
It's not exactly opening week for the film but the evening was as good as sold out.
Queen is huge again thanks to that movie.

Same thing in record stores in Montreal: all dealers I spoke told me they sold more Queen records in the past few weeks then they did the whole year before the movie came out.

I didn't like the movie a lot, but I'm happy to see it made Queen really populair again. Good for them and well deserved!

For those who doesnt know queen the movie was very enjoyable. The cast did a good job.
Ofcourse the music did his work for the masses.
Personaly HTF as singalong ruined the live aid piece for me. And i missed the absolute beauty of their music. It didnt touch me seeing the movie. Seeing live aid still does.
