I have a question for Chinwonder and Chief Mouse.
I want to capture my vast collection of promo VHSs. I will do this in an uncompressed V210 10-bit YUV AVI file. Of course, I will maintain the frame size and rate of the original format, and keep everything interlaced with the proper field order.
I really cannot leave this as uncompressed because of the file size (+100 GB/hr). On the other hand, I want to share this stuff with people to use it for their open restoration/remastering projects, so I wouldn't want to lose too much information.
Which video codec do you recommend me to encode this stuff for those purposes?
