We all know Rudi's memory's far from eidetic... the 'she' he mentioned could've been one of the backing vocalists on the 'Barcelona' project or The Cross (tour and/or video) or Brian's 'Back to the Light' (sessions for which began in or around 1988), and maybe, in his mind, any of the female backing vocalists in any of those records would've qualified as a 'one of Queen's backing vocalists', just like loads of people think Andrew Gibb was part of the group The Bee Gees (he wasn't) or that the first Queen album partially done outside England was 'Jazz' (it wasn't). Wrong, potentially annoying... but still, far from being a statistical anomaly and it doesn't necessarily render everything else he says as false (not that anyone implied so anyway).

Sebastian: very true. I think all of the time biographies say as much about the author as the subject. Which to me is an interesting thing about biographies. And if you read enough you get your own sense of the subject (of course your own sense is also dependent on who YOU are, so you can't suddenly believe your idea is more right than anyone else!)
Memory is fallible, as is perception and it is in things like the inaccuracies and for example things we know (if it is about Freddie - Lucky us that we live in a time close enough to know this) Freddie wouldn't have wanted said as examples that we get insight into who a biographer is too, I feel. I think it is impossible for a biography to be unbiased. Unless it is either very boring (ie ONLY factual), or has an infinity of contributors, all of whom had intimate insight with the subject spanning/throughout their entire life.

Not Sure if I am interested in his project. Maybe some nice bits will come to light. On The other hand there is the massive load of bs Rudi is to blame for. I can remember a few articles for the RS he wrote. Not too good...

Yeah, could be.

Every biographer has an agenda. They are written by people who hate the subject, love the subject or simply want to cash in on the subject.
I will treat this one as I have with all the others and ignore.
I read Jim Hutton's and he says he wrote it with Freddie's knowledge and blessing?
Including his final minutes and last words?
The guy really fucked Freddie over when he did that. I guess his bank account got fat though.

Let's hope he gets his dates right because the home videos from the band he was involved in got dates wrong all over the place

Mooghead: Mary Austin also made a fat fee out of Freddie by going to the papers and glossy magazines, so don't slag Jim Hutton because he made Freddie far more happier than Mary ever could.

Bet they were glossier after you finished with them.
