I believe "A Star Is Born" has no chance at best picture, because it uses a non-actor in a main role.[/QUOTE]

I believe BohRhap has no chance at the best picture because of Bryan Singer debacle.

Rami deserves to be nominated and to win, but the itself? definitely not
the fact that no one understands you doesn't make you an artist

Ii guess you shouldnt be queen addict to really enjoy the movie. While i was completly not touched during the movie.. the rest was..
I expect them to do better in the sequel. Ending with mother love will bring a tear.

I really doubt there will be a second movie.

In summary, he thinks it's a shitty piece of film making.

I think the critics are trying their best to do their own job. It is their job to say what is artistic or not artistic, so that the dumb masses can follow their advice. But what a thankless job it is, because art or entertainment - in any form - has a different impact on each individual.

If you compare critics’ scores and audience scores for movies, there is sometimes agreement and sometimes a divergence. But just because a movie gets top scores by critics and audiences, it doesn’t mean that every individual will like the movie.

Also, just because something is “artistic” and original doesn’t make it enjoyable. There is a trend in “Hollywood” towards the creepy, odd, scary, grotesque, morbid, and dystopian. These movies make you glad to leave the theater and realize that your life is so calm and normal in comparison: you don’t have someone pointing a gun at you or trying to blow up your car or drop you off the edge of a cliff.

Some parts of Bohemian Rhapsody are a bit cliche, but so is Christmas, newborn babies, weddings, dances, a beautiful sunset, a cute cat. It’s all been seen and done before, but those things still bring joy to our human existence.

If the movie is not a critic’s idea of best movie material, I can understand that. But why go overboard with the negativity?

I'm astounded this somehow got a Best Picture nomination. No. Absolute no.

I'm going to be honest, the first time I saw the film, although I did enjoy the experience, I realized it was hot garbage of a film. I don't study film, I'm not a film buff or anything. But even to someone as uneducated about the art of film making as me could tell this movie blows as an actual movie. Every single expected cliche of a "band movie" was in there (the most laughable to me being the 'dad disapproves' cliche). I told all my friends "the movie sucks, but go see it" simply because it got me to start looking into Queen's music more. But God the movie sucks ass as a film.

Also, was anyone else really pissed off by the "nudge nudge" quality of the Mike Meyers cameo? It was just...so obnoxious. The way the scene was framed when he was saying "kids will never be head-banging in their cars to this music", just slowly zooming in on him, was like "HEY GUYS GET IT?!?!?! REMEMBER 'WAYNES WORLD'?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAH ITS THE SAME GUY!!!!!!!' Took me out of the film entirely.

Also, Rami is clearly very passionate about Freddie and his role in the film, but...idk I'm sorry his Freddie seemed so off. His voice was off, he made Freddie sound and act like he was...I guess "slow" is the right word whenever he spoke. I didn't get it. I went and watched interviews with Freddie afterward and saw no correlation between the actual Freddie and the way he spoke and the "Rami-Freddie"

Idk random ramblings. I mean, I wont be surprised if Rami wins and it'll be great press for Freddie and Queen which will be worth it. But Best Picture is a definite no.

Honestly, I didn't and don't mind the Mike Myers cameo. I actually nthought it was pretty good, funny even. Then again, I became a Freddie and Queen fan in big part because of Wanyes World.
Gotta say, I'm surprised every time the movie wins an award. I don't feel like it's the best biopic ever, I'd actually put many other biopics before it.
I didn't get the impression Rami tried to make Freddie slow. One thing that did stand out to me was the lack of 'fun'.

-Sorry about the triple post, no clue what the hell happened there...-
Oh I didn't mean to imply Rami meant to make Freddie sound 'slow', moreso the combination of the way Rami speaks and then the voice he used plus some of the mannerisms he tried to add, for whatever reason, came off that way at times.
