Knebworth theory

Like many people I was wondering what this years 'release' would be now that the move is out, I pretty much expected it to the DVD and Blu Ray of the movie for a XMAS 2019 release. I was suprised they're releasing then so early when it's still in the cinemas (!). That opens the door for different XMAS release .... my guess (and hope) is it will be some kind of Knebworth box. Interest in Freddie is at an all time high so what better timing? Of course there's the debate about how much video footage they have, I personally think they have the screen footage .... why would Brian and G.B. both confirm it only to change their tune later? Anyway that's a debate that's been done to death but fingers crossed .....

If they have the screen footage, why would they be using the cam footage in documentaries. It's increasingly clear the screen feed wasn't recorded.

Greg Brooks said, if I remember "footage of the screen, which is boring." Which probably means the footage we all have, not the feed to the screen.

Honestly don't be naive. I believe if they would have the big screen footage they will allready use something from this in some documentaries or so on. For example i give earls court concert where the big screen was recorded yet not relleased. No matter how bad the angle was they used some bitts in few videos and they will did the same for kneb. but they didn't. The boh rap and hammer to fall bits that people saying was from big screen are actually from doro cause both of these songs was perormed after ISTWWC where doro start to shoot. The only chance we have is full audio in some kind of cd collection or something.

DoRo didn't film the whole gig. So there is no chance of an audio release either, maybe as a part of some CD collection or boxset as Marlamir said.

but a standalone release of just the audio is not possible since there's no full video support for such release

There already is a partial recording release - live magic is taken alot from Knebworth. And the Under Pressure Rah mix cd has the Knebworth version of UP and the vocal part with the crowd. so it exists..

That's what I said, there is a complete audio recording but not on video.

There is no audio only release of a full concert and there will never be one during my life, or during Brian's life to be more precise (it's almost the same thing considering my age).
And he couldn't be blamed for this, as I suspect it's someone's else's commercial decision planted in his receptive mind (he had a legion of small Prenters not only one).

The funny thing is that Brian's last Queen live performance was one of his bests, but apparently he wants to be remembered as a shrewd businessman not as a great musician.
As for the box set, it remains a DIY project.

In 2012 when QAL were headling Sonisphere witch i had a ticket for...was cancelled Knebworth CD had been produced to get realsed when they did Knewborth....But it has been shelfed...this year will see Live Killers 3 CD release. All comfirmed with insiders

Not really. QPL may not have the footage themselves - maybe someone else has it, or the footage was lost/destroyed. Or maybe QPL even just don't want it out there for some bizarre reason, There's literally no way that the production company who were hired to film the gig wouldn't have recorded it even just for themselves - the means for recording would have been part of their rig. There were multiple parties involved in the show who would have wanted it filmed. This wasn't some unknown band playing a pub - if you were professionally filming one of the biggest bands in the world, you're not going to not record it even if the band/management or promoter haven't paid for it. Simple as fucking that.

Have you ever been hired to film something or someone in a professional capacity, there are times when you are not allowed a copy of what you film, not even for in company use.

The starvision/Jumbotron screen people would have had no rights to retain the video if they were hired only to stream the concert to the live screen. The popularity of the band playing has nothing to do with it, it's a professional service doing a contracted job, you do what you are contracted to do and don't piss about breaking privacy and copyright law.

That includes destroying or handing over footage.
Do you think it's a massive coincidence news crew only film 90 seconds of concerts? It's because they are sticking to rules they are given regarding permission.

So, can somebody write in simple words what the fuck with the Kneb Concert?
Do the proffessional video of the full show (or at least 2/3 of it) exists?
There must be camera operators somewhere on or below the stage...probably. At least, near the lighting rigs. Or they only shoot bits & pieces of the whole show? If so, how is was possible for such a big band not to permit video taping of such an event?

His first post is clear but then on page 2 he does another post where says we should "expect the unexpected"
So I expect a dvd with the entire concert on video :-)
