Mary Austin and the rest of Queen

The above article seems to pint at his house being the bone of contention between Mary and the band...why would that be?

Mary gets his royalties and such but she doesn't own a 1/4 stake in the band therefore gets no say in decision making.

Thanks. That's what I'd assumed. But people in here implying she had some say in the recent film made me question whether I was mistaken.

How well do Mary and the band get along generally though? She is never seen with them at any event...plus her comments seem to imply some sort of quarrel

Mary met Brian and Roger at Freddie's 65th birthday memorial bash in 2011, and there were a couple of photos of her with them, or I could be remembering a different event where Brian and Mary were photographed together this decade.

As far as I know Mary had scant contact with Freddie's family after his funeral, and she seems to prefer to stay in private. I don't think the rest of the band could feel in any way jealous about her getting some royalties or living in the house, since they're all super-rich.

The only thing you can imagine is if maybe some of Queen would have liked to have made Garden Lodge some kind of museum for Freddie. In terms of considering Queen as a business, it would certainly have made a lot of money. But I can't imagine any of Queen would have had the desire to do that. It seems to me incredibly intrusive towards Freddie & I don't think the band are about that?

If there was any animosity, it seems long over now in any case.
