The second version has the hiss louder, that's the only thing I noticed, that's why I'm asking if somebody could do a proper comparison so that I know what I should concentrate on

It's the wow and flutter you need to concentrate on, dedicated software was used to try and reduce it.

As kurgan said flutter is what you need to concentrate on. This project is from 80% flutter reduction and 20% muffled reduction. For better noticed, put your headphones on and put the volume bit louder. Honestly if you still didn't hear the difference than you should make sure that your ears are healthy :D (don't take this as hate or something)

You asked him to do a before and after - I told you he did that.

And no, I didn't see it as a criticism. You're honesty is not being questioned. When I said it was a nice upgrade, I'm basically saying trust the majority who have posted their thanks - download it (doesn't take long) and listen to it thoroughly. You'll be pleasantly surprised. That's what I was getting at :)

I have downloaded the audio files and heard the musical works and performances contained therein. Many thanks for posting these. Really appreciated! However, I could not help noticing that some of that cherished genuinely '70s tape flutter on these masterful renditions is now missing. I shall try to restore it for my next project.
