Great work. You've certainly managed to eliminate most of the flutter.

Not at all! I'm dead serious... I've done it before:

If you feel the wow and flutter is now below an acceptable level, then perhaps the pinch roller in your hard drive needs adjustment.
I'm not sure this would be within your area of expertise though, as that seems to be in kick drum restoration.

By the way Wilki, unrelated, but I asked a question at the bottom of this thread but perhaps you didn't see it?

Hmmm... I will have to check the azimuth of my SDDs, thanks!

Yes, I'm quite a master at bass drum reinstatement. I'm glad you've noticed that!

The HARD part was to get the actual isolated bass drum from the vaults, though:

Fortunately, Joshua J. Macrae's family decided to pay the ransom. Good for them.

Going back to what was shared here, it is indeed a big improvement. Thanks, Marlamir!

Marlamir, a while back I sent the author of the software a link to your corrected sample on YouTube and asked his advice on if it could still be improved upon.
I have just received a reply from him.
This is in no way knocking your work, but his comments might be of interest to you.

Oh yeah that can definitely be reduced. Probably 16k FFT size, big overlap, peak traces over the bass frequencies. I'm currently adding several new features that make more complicated tasks easier, like locking lots of short traces to the same frequency. So you can individually trace separate notes that should have the same frequency, and then join them afterwards.[/QUOTE]
