Easyme... A big welcome to you. So glad you found this thread! (Your English is beautiful.)

Katydyd , Amidds, JB050 and FreddieDarling, Thanks for your nice words. JB, I wore my "I still miss Freddie Mercury" shirt yesterday and I am "rocking" my Freddie tattoo on my forearm. (temporary...but it's fun!)

Chevy, you asked what my favorite Queen song is? Probably Bohemian Rhapsody as that was the first Queen song I ever heard back in the 70’s. There is a huge nostalgia factor attached to it for me. There are so many others that are on my expanded favorites list though. Selecting just one or two would be like walking into a beautiful garden and picking out which flower you like best.

Lsgp...You're right...Queen's live renditions are amazing. Generally speaking, I have never enjoyed live recordings as much as studio versions either...until Queen. Some examples that come to mind: "Hammer To Fall"...they knocked it out of the park at Live Aid. (That is actually my favorite song in their set.) "Somebody To Love" from the Montreal concert...WOW! "You Take My Breath Away from Hyde Park in 1976 is exquisite. I agree with you and Katydyd about Dragon Attack from the Montreal show in 1981. Who isn't entertained watching Freddie move around on stage...the way he pulls people into his performances is masterful. Loved Brian's "Dragon Attack" guitar solo as well as seeing Roger drum, without always needing to actually look at the drums!

Rainbow .Bohemian is a all time favorite too! I think you can hear every instrument ever played .To bad we couldn't do that at football season when I was in school it wouldve been awesome.I mean to play every single note you ever played.Lsgp,Persians are such beautiful people as well. They have dark hair and dark eyes.Their facial traits are gorgeous. The women are absolutely beautiful.Thank you for those links you are kind to share with the group.

Rainbow, yes, how could I have forgotten Somebody to Love in Montreal! I’ve seen so many live acts that disappointed because they were no where near the studio version you fell in love with. Queen for me, is the only group that’s a phenomenal live act. Although Prince was a great live act too.

Legp, Prince Rogers Nelson was terrific as an artist. Is was another one you didnt know what to expect.Alot of people didnt care for his stage performances due to their sexual nature but I thought they were created beautifully.I love his song purple rain he was another one that's talent will be greatly missed.I like artist that stand out from the rest they aren't followers.Freddie we all know was one.Prince was another, boy George is a all time favorite.Oh as far as female artist my most favorite is madonna yet again alot of people werent crazy about her sexual openness on stage but I think that's what drew me to her.She was different not your average female not afraid to take a leap .I think alot of girls could relate to her in those times and were to afraid to Express themselves.

Early Freddie. Do you think the lyrics are about his relationship with his father in 1974, or a headmaster at St Peters in the 50’s to early 60’s? I know he says all his songs are what we make out of it, but he wrote it, and anyone who writes lyrics, a script, a book, a screenplay, what have you, it means something to the author. Always been curious

Hahahaha Chevyman, I remember how every girl dressed like Madonna, hair, all the huge jewelry, the lace gloves to the elbows, the spandex tights under toule skirts, and corsets. The following of her was like how in the movie Flashdance, almost every girl wanted to live in a warehouse, ride a bike everywhere, live in Pittsburgh....everyone started with the leg warmers and everyone tried her exercise program doing the running in place, expecting the same body, when the all the dancing parts were an actual French dancer, and not Jennifer Beales. One Halloween I went as Cyndi Lauper and my friend went as Boy George. Those were also the days of the Queen Works album....”radio Gaga, hammer to fall, the world we created”
Never forget the Prince concert, where he rolled out in a huge bed that moved all around an oval stage......

Lsgp, hell yes those were the days.Prince was so hot I was like twelve.I wanted a purple cake for my bday and got it.I wanted the movie purple Raim and got that.My grandma had a cow I was watching it one day with friends. She was religious and thought we were watching porn.I could just relate to madonna she didnt represent your average girl and neither was I.Where are all those good artist today.Oh we cant forget about George Michael I think every friend of mine wanted him.I didnt I wouldve rather had madonna. Now that we mention all the girls that were after George Michael so many were after poor Freddie too.I think they knew he was gay they just kept their blinders on hoping .Even today he has more female followers I think. If he wasnt so good looking that wouldnt happen right.

Lspg..Interesting question about the song "Liar". Ultimately it's a question nobody can really answer, but it's certainly fun to hypothesize. Maybe the song is not necessarily about one person, but is an amalgam of people, situations, or even feelings that are woven into one cohesive idea (for Freddie) however impenetrable it is to the rest of us.

I read this online: "Liar is an early rock epic written by Mercury. As the legend says, it is an updated version of an Ibex-era song called "Lover". So I went through the song and substituted the word "lover" for "liar"...Well, it's still a mystery! LOL

Damn right Freddie was so hot.....he got better looking and more Persian looking as he got older. He was so hot, if you looked up Hot in the dictionary the definition would just be his photo.

Rainbow that is interesting isn’t it. Lyricist always say there’s no real meaning and it’s what you think it means .....but all famous writers were taught to “write what you know about “
So now it makes me laugh with the line in Luar....”mamma I’m gonna be your slave all day long “
LOL......I miss Freddie

Lsgp oh yes I loved the Persian boy but it looked a bit innocent. It was a time for change he grew up when he got the mustache. He was like a butterfly constantly in a beautiful state of change. That pic you uploaded my gosh I dont even like dark headed men.He just changed so much from the 70s to the early 80s it's like he had slipped into something more comfortable. He had fully transformed that's what it looked like to me.It wasnt a fashion statement like alot of celebrities go through.I truly feel he stepped into himself.Well this subject gets me a little excited.I just know I read how much of a struggle he had as many young people do.Its nice to see him be proud and sure of himself.
