Freddie at a crowded "Black Friday" event? NEVER! That would probably be the least appealing way for an extremely private, world famous, multi-millionaire to shop ...equivalent to one of the rings of hell in Dante's Inferno!

Thor...Congratulations, your name is now famous in the show dog world! :) BTW... Hope your knee is doing much better. I assume no news is good news!

This is a link to a podcast featuring Spike Edney. It's rather long and I only listened to about twenty minutes. I don't do well with straight audio, I seem to need pictures to stay interested. I thought I'd share it for those with a better attention span than I have. I tried to make it a live link but didn't succeed for some reason.

Glad everyone had a good Thanksgiving- still just reading and enjoying everyone 's posts.

Thor- glad your knee is coming along- hope you are not offended but I was hoping the Havanese would have won the dog show as I have 3 of them:)

Take care all!!

Chevyman, Black Friday is nationwide. Freddie at Black Friday? Naaah, I read somewhere he once paid Harrods to extend its hours once after it closed just so he could shop by himself without a crowd or press.
He was notorious for binge shopping in japan.
Per Phoebe he and joe fanelli did all Freddie’s shopping in London.
If Freddie ever did Black Friday he’d probably send Phoebe-Peter Freestone

Thanks Katydyd, I don’t mind audio too much because I paint oil on canvas while I listen to audio all the time.
Listening to anything about Freddie will keep me in front of the easel longer, and not be distracted

Oh and chevyman, after that experience at the store, I would have done the exact same thing, leaving the cart where I left it, and never go back. That’s to bad that happened though. I only went twice in my life and usually went a couple hours before they closed. I prefer to sleep in on Black Friday

Lsgp, me too! I can shop .Binge shop I's a good word for me.Thats my addiction I guess and beer. When your shopping I get a big rush I start sweating and then when it's over I'm sad lol.I like old stuff though like Freddie did.Antiques are my favorite thing to buy. When you go to an auction and win it makes you wanna turn around and say ha ha ha bitch its mine.Thats not very nice but you gotta play hard ball.Im starting to sweat now thinking about it.

Just in case you haven’t seen these yet:

Freddie Mercury Museum Pemex in Zanzibar on Nov 24 —

You are the only one - studio audio - was being written - never released. YouTube notes really interesting.

Thanks for the links JB. I had read that a new Freddie Mercury museum had opened in Zanzibar. I'm surprised it took this long I've always heard that there was almost nothing there of Freddie's early life and that tourists were often disappointed when they visited. Then again, Brian and Anita made a pilgrimage there this year and Brian seemed to find it a rewarding experience. I'm thinking though that I read that Kash gave him some ideas of places to visit.

"You Are the Only One" sounded like a song with possibilities. I like the melody. The notes are interesting because they are a window on some of the process Freddie used when writing a song. I suspect there must be many, many tapes like that around.

JB050....Thanks for the Zanzibar museum info. I had no idea...such great news! Opening a museum in Freddie's birthplace to celebrate the accomplishments of their most famous son seems very meaningful...like Freddie's life has come full circle. I found this link on the Freddie website that gave a bit more detail.

Katydyd5....Thanks for the Spike Edney interview. I especially loved the tidbits of info about Live Aid.

Every year, since 1988, Dec. 1st marks World AIDS Day globally. Per the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), it's "an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV, and remember those who have died."
