Rainbow,I bet you are excited it's something to look forward too.I think they are in Houston tonight I'm not sure.I always wanted to attend a pink floyd concert but never did I bet their concerts were an absolute trip in the day.
CHEVYMAN, Pink Floyd is a blast to the past! My friends and I saw the band back in 1994 (OMG, that was 25 years ago!) when the band toured the U.S. We had 2nd row seats. I still have the concert tee and wonder what it's worth today. I'll never forget when guitarist David Gilmour performed "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" on stage. It was absolutely amazing and even more amazing when you're simultaneously high as a kite! LOL
I loved to smoke pot as a teen, esp. to Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" but gave it all up completely @ the tender age of 20 for professional and personal reasons and not even one relapse since! I do crave it on occasion today, even after all these years, because I love its pungent aroma. However, the only way I get it today is from inhaling secondhand smoke from concerts. Not only is it free, but it's guilt-free, too! I hope I get to inhale some secondhand marijuana from the Queen + Adam Lambert concert on Sat.! LOL
BTW, how does Pink Floyd relate to Freddie? Well, Freddie and Dave Gilmour were friends or @ the very least, friendly acquaintances. There are photographs of them together @ a b-day party and the last event was @ an awards show in 1990. Freddie passed away in 1991.
OK, talk about things that would be fun to own!! I'd love to have it if only to watch my kids roll their eyes. Way out of my price range of course.

Thanks again to Galileo for the tip on live links!
Welcome, Amidds! I hope you enjoy this lovely thread!
Jt, Girl I know i mean disrespect to this thread Thor but I would like to get really stoned and go to one of their concerts.I too used to smoke alot of Mary Jane in the day .I used to like to get stoned listen to pink floyd the doors or led zeppelin. I think it would be a complete trip to go to a pink floyd concert all of the colors they incorporate into their concerts .I wouldn't be able to smoke much I haven't done that in years contact high would work for me.I would probably pass out.
I mean no disrespect sorry about that I left no out
Thanks for the warm welcome and the good tips!
Not sure where I saw the info about the book being reviewed by the members of the band. I would look again but I feel as if you guys have above average knowledge so I'll skip that!
Wondering what you guys think about Freddie's David Wigg interviews? He claims to have been friends with Freddie for years but some articles I have read seem to contradict info in Peter Freestones books.
Rainbow: heard about the recipe book but can’t seem to find that one, maybe it’s out of print?
Amidds,I think David wigg was a good friend of Freddie's that he trusted but I think he portrayed alot of false info when it came to Freddie and Mary .I also think he was responsible for putting some false info out there on Freddie Barbara and winnie I believe. But like I said Freddie trusted him I think so there you have it.I would take what Peter Freestone said as truth over anyone because he was with him most of the time.
Thanks Chevyman! Sorry if I ask a lot of questions here...I just recently saw BR and, while I enjoyed the movie because of the music, I didn't like it overall because I felt like they left a lot of important stuff out and portrayed FM as so sad. Broke my heart!
My kids reminded me at the time....can't pack all of that into a 2 hour movie! They are so right but now I'm obsessed with finding out the truth!!!
It's sad but with all the info out there, this is one of the very few places where the truth has been consistent.
Amid, I agree totally not everybody always agrees with me on the BR movie but to me he was portrayed sad and from what I know from his friends he was a happy man.The movie showed him mainly straddling a fence with his sexuality and his want for women and men.I dont think that's true friends say he never ever even looked at a woman he was always on the scout for men just like the rest of the guys.He was very happy with his life and I dont understand why they did what they did. This book coming out will be a good one though it will tell some stories and fun times with his men friends that he spent alot of his time with and was friends with until his death. It hopefully will shed light on the false misconceptions about what people think about this man.
Amidds...The website I purchased my Freddie cookbook through is "under construction". I was excited to get a signed copy for no extra cost. The book is now available through Amazon, both in the US and UK, and on eBay in the UK. This is the US Amazon link. I'm trying the "remove the 's' trick to make the link work.

Jo T. Were you able to get seats close to the stage? Mine are a bit more than half way back...but they were reasonably priced. At least they have a stage that projects far out into the audience, so that will bring them a bit closer!
@Rainbow61, we are seated in the Lower Level 100s, approx. halfway across the stage.
Rainbow - thanks, the link worked :)
Chevyman - I got the same impression reading thru this, that he was much happier than portrayed! I plan on re-watching with a more open mind and try to enjoy it for what it is!
Amidd,Yes that would be what I would do just take things in the film for what they are and enjoy it.No rockstars life is gonna be a pg rated film I'm sorry that's not happening. So I dont get that one either.I think it's fair to say they all had ups and downs and they sure all had a good time I know I sure would. But when someone passes and someone else makes decisions on their behalf it's not always in their best interest or always correct. But enjoy your second viewing I got what I needed the first time around.oh welcome I'm sorry forgive me I never welcomed you.
Thank you Thor for the update on Gofundme! Excited.
