JB,Idid a little research and I think the lightning outfit he wears on stage symbolizes the five fires of energies I thought that was pretty interesting.I always thought about the colors he wore white symbolizes truth.Yellow he wore represents the sun and red represents fire.At some time or another he wore all these colors.I dont know if it had to do with his parents beliefs but that's what these symbols and colors mean. They mean similar in my tribe as well.

Chevy, Thanks!!

I looked at this a while ago (link below) but hadn’t absorbed it all and not always sure about sources. I’d imagine most of you are well familiar. Anyway, just thought I’d throw out a “light” topic while we are in between things.

And all this time I thought he wore those colors because they made it easy to see him on stage. Plus yellow was his favorite color.

I, too, enjoyed that video that was recently shared. It included a few faces I hadn't seen in earlier videos. It seems some of them just regurgitated Mary's stories (and got the details wrong), but a few of them had new things to say.

DC, I'm sure he might of wore them because they were his favorite colors as well but in his ancestors and parents faith those colors and symbols have meaning.Im not religious by no means but my ancestors were and I know what alot of these colors mean you learn them its apart of your Indian education. My grandparents were white and catholic so that's a different story.Yes I'm a little let down they again included two women this time and didn't even let Rose tell her story .They always include Mary I think she might be a secret member of queen we don't know about.Maybe she fills in for Roger on the drums just kidding.

I watched a video either on YouTube or Vimeo, awhile ago, from Freddie himself, in those huge stadiums, he did not stand out in black, so he learned to wear white, and primary colors on stage for the audience to have a focal point.

And yes, yellow and oxblood red were his 2 favorite colors. They said he at one point special ordered a car in oxblood red. Naturally, he did not do the driving though.

Lsgp, Interesting I didn't know about the car.It would be so nice just to say I want this car in this color and I want it to look like this.He worked hard for it though alot of long hours. He made many sacrifices to get were he did.

Hello all! Have been following all of you since day one and am reassured to see that my FM obsession is actually shared by so many. Want your feedback...I have always found it strange that Freddie is supposed to have replied to Mary's request for a baby so flippantly. I think that she probably approached him when he moved back to London from Munich as we are told in some of the books that she kind of got her hopes up at that time re their relationship. We are told that he respected her, that he always treated her kindly and was very generous financially etc. I just can't believe he would respond to what would have been a very serious, hopeful plea from her with "I'd rather have anther cat." I think that that is when he likely told her either that he was HIV positive or that he most likely was and therefore that he could not safely "give" her a baby. She has said that she knew early on about his health issues. He also reportedly said at one time that a baby would be nice but "it's never going to happen." What do you think?
It makes me so sad to see Elton John now happily settled with a husband and family while Freddie missed out.

Boomer, Freddie adored children I think but from a distance I think he was asked in a interview once and he told reporter if he foundthe right girl. You have to remember He had his career to protect and that's why he said that Freddie was gay therefore in my opinion I dont think he ever loved Mary Austin in a Romantic way .I truly believe she loved him and wanted the same love back but he was unable to do that for her so he would've been unable to give her a relationship she desired with children. If I were to put myself in her shoes for a moment you can't control your feelings for someone but you can control your actions.I dont think he said he would rather have another cat I think he told her no and she knew why and she shouldn't have put him in that position.

Boomer, What is sad is that he passed away at 45 years old and had so much talent in him.I know many people that don't have children of their own and are great aunts and uncles.I had an awesome uncle and he had a great life and was very happy and had no children.I was enough for anyone not to want children.Im glad his years were happy he passed as well in his thirties.

I do agree that he wasn't the daddy type and indeed might not have wanted to raise children. I do still wonder however kind of "why not?" if he knew he was going to leave her everything and really cared for her. You're probably right though since he didn't "love" her as a partner and it would have really complicated things for him. My Elton John comment is not so much because he has kids but because he, despite having lived a wild life for many years, got to live out his life truly open about his sexuality.
Final dig...I know they were a product of their background and the times etc. but why oh why, if, as Fredde's mother said, they "knew" about his orientation and ultimately his illness, could they not have told him that they knew and that they accepted him as he was before he died? The poor guy was really guilt-ridden and tied himself in knots trying to "protect" them from the truth.

Boomer, Because it was against their religion.I think they loved him as their son and accepted him as their son it could've been alot worse.I have seen alot worse. My own grandfather was a racist bigot.Thats a tough thing to be raised by I couldn't wait to get out.He hated his own son who does that I sure couldn"t.In most Indian families it's also important to pass down the family name by that you would need to have children. If he had told them he were gay that would've shattered any hope of that happening .That's just a guess on my part I dont know for a fact.He did seem to have loving parents though. His mother always talked fond of him and she was proud of him.
