I hope you are enjoying this segment of the book publishing process. It must be very gratifying to have entered the "final stretch" after all your hard work. I know you had some good ideas for the book such as calling the chapters "vignettes" to capture the sense of musicality as you had told us a while back, and having the cover be a picture of "The Daughters" surrounding Freddie on a hotel lobby staircase. I guess we will just have to wait and see!

Rainbow Thor said that the segments of a book in the US are called 'vignettes' as opposed to 'chapters' in the uk.I can't remember where you are from but now I'm confused lol

No doughnut on this side of the pond we say “chapters” too. I recall Thor saying he was going to call them vignettes. I think of that as a theatre term, but you can look up the meaning. I’m not sure I would get it right. But it gives me the sense of each chapter (or “vignette”) revealing some aspect or another of Freddie or of his friendships with the Daughters. Rather than the book telling an ongoing story, each chapter will be its own little, um, vignette.

At least that is my sense of it. We’ll see.

And vignette is French for little vine.

Just got through listening to “The Prophets Song.” It’s been years since I’ve heard it. and damn if that’s not a masterpiece.

It"s a very old song isn"t it.It"s a good one though.

Galileo, Yes books have chapters My attention span is very very short.So it has to really be interesting or my eyes waunder right off the page.

oh well I could swear that Thor said they are called vignettes in the US . What we need is Thor to confirm what he meant as I'm sure he said I will know them as chapters.
