Chevy...I reread Delilah's post a few times and saw NOTHING in her words that could be remotely construed as saying Freddie had no faith because he was gay. WHAT???? You also said that Freddie and Jim were more open to talking about sex because they were not conservative...WHAT??? Finally....it is not appropriate to ask a person who comes to QZ, which is supposed to be a place of sharing and learning and discussion about Freddie, to explain their true feelings about homosexuality. NO,NO, NO!

I am so frustrated with the dynamic that has been set up on this thread whereby if someone does not believe Mary is the devil incarnate, then that person does not accept that Freddie was gay, or is not accepting of a gay lifestyle in general, or dislikes Jim.

It does not have to be like this.

Hi Chevyman, I don't discriminate against gays nor do I hate anyone who is if that's what you're alluding to. I'm coming from a place where I feel it's disrespectful to disclose intimate details of a relationship open to public knowledge especially from a boyfriend/spouse. In my opinion, Freddie still had some of the those conservative beliefs and disagree that it didn't bother him. I think he felt guilty about his lifestyle and didn't want to come out openly about it as he had the utmost respect for his parents. That's what I'm talking about. Maybe understanding filial piety or the link to the article may help. Of course, that's just my observation. And I don't have anger toward anyone. :)

I want to close this discussion because not everyone is interested in Mary or Jim and this topic has been beaten to death here and on other forums. It can be boring for most and that's why people choose not to post or stop coming to this site. ###

Look ladies I'm not one too beat around the Bush all you guys kiss her ass I'm sorry I think she was and is a bitch end of story.Katydyd anytime someone meaning me disagrees with you you go cry and have to go get someone to back you.I say what I feel on subjects .Katy you and I haven't gotten along since the beginning. There comes a time you have to put you big girl drawers on and stop crying to everyone and take a difference in opinion.Yes I did call her out it's a feeling I get so I did ask her.Relkguon shouldn't be discussed especially if you are white and dont understand the culture your talking about.keep my name out of your mouth unless I address you.
By the way if you would like you can contact Thor and have him chew my as out if you like and I will take that but you will not do it.

Religion, abortion, politics and apparently Jim/Mary. Topics we should not discuss or try our best to be respectful when we do. Everyone has and is entitled to their opinions (and what's that saying about opinions? lol). We don't have to agree with everybody or anybody. We do have to allow/embrace differences in each other, even if we do that by simply not responding. All these opinions are valid but, here's the thing. Not one of us knows what happened at every minute of every day of Freddie's life or his exact thoughts as he was very protective of those he loved. We can only go by what (reliable) sources tell us and learn from statements he made. Even then, we can all look at the same facts and develop different views. It's probably best to agree that he made his decisions, he had reasons for them and we may never really know what they are. This is a hard pill for me to swallow too. As a Psych major, I love to understand what makes people tick. During my internship, I learned a valuable lesson: not everyone knows why they do/think what they do and most of us are so stubbornly set in our ways/beliefs that we don't always open those beautiful minds to learning/thinking new ideas. Let's all step back and appreciate each other's differences in opinions and celebrate that we all love Freddie/Queen and the joy they still bring us.

(stepping off my soap box)....also wanted to mention, to those who are interested, I did pick up the book As It Began. I've been so busy catching up from vacation that I haven't had a change to do more than glance through it, but, it actually has a couple of pics that I've never seen before and the
discography included is excellent. There was also a blurb that Freddie did have a change to read/approve it before he passed. Of course, that doesn't tell us much and with things I've read on QZ about the "Queen Machine", I'm hoping (tho slightly doubtful) for an insightful read :).

Ciao darlings!

Delilah, it took me a while to come around to accepting Adam, but the respect he shows for Freddie and the guys won me over. If you get a chance to see them, do it! It was everything and more that I had hoped for.
Hi Katydyd5, did they have a support band? Just curious.... thanks

Lsgp, nope it was all them! They played for slightly over two hours I think, though I enjoyed it so much I never peeked at my watch.

I paid $75 for my concert tickets and we were on the club level which is just slightly up from the floor. I would not have missed that concert for the world.
Katydyd please tell me your secret to only paying $75 for Queen tix!? I’m being totally honest here, and not sarcastic.

Lsgp, I wasn't on the floor and that's why the tickets were affordable! I'm terrible at explaining the arena, but think of it this way: There is the floor, then the first set of risers. The club section where we were is just above that, and is small. Above our section was the nosebleed section that goes on forever to the roof. I don't like heights at all so I wouldn't even have considered that. I would have loved to have been on the floor but my friend and I felt that it was too expensive for us. I bought the tickets the day they went on sale. I think I had to put in the price range we wanted, and then lists of available seating came up. I had five minutes to decide to buy before the tickets were released and I had to start again. As it got closer to the concert I checked the price of our seats and I think they were going for around $300 then. The concert was sold out by the second day but there are sites where you can get scalped tickets. We did have to watch most of the action on the big screens, but the band was as tiny as I thought they would be. The music, was of course, HUGE!

Hi all.
I know I owe a few responses, will flip back during the week and reply.

I have a few things in the meantime. :—))

— please forgive me, I can’t recall off the top of my head whose post it was about having a dream with Freddie in it. I really liked that whole post! And, ok, opens the door for me to share I had one a few months ago too. I really wanted to go back to sleep and spend more time there. :-)). It was so cool.

I was in an ‘open’ room, all windows, good size room, with a long drawing table in the center, made of wood with a glass top. Freddie was sitting there on a stool sketching very focused and talking, explaining as he drew, shading the corner of the page-All in pencil. No idea what I read or watched night before that one. Anyway, there is my Ftedfie dream.

And, went to see Come From Away yesterday in Chicago. (Show Lee had mentioned about the planes that were diverted to Gander-Newfoundland 9-11) phenomenal! I’m so glad they are telling this story. Love how they presented it..., perfectly. What a valuable reminder about the depths of the impacts of kindness. . Loved how it brought home that people from all different backgrounds were brought together, and bonded. II remember hearing this story at the time but learned even more. (Like the person who cared for the animals) Thanks to Lee for mentioning it!
