Rainbow61- great idea to see what the library had. I’m impressed you got a very detailed inventory. :-) Pretty nice amount of items..funny about taxes.,, no CDs!?!? .. time to protest? Haha,,.. list of items is interesting. That’s so cool that you got the inventory. Would be fun to check here too. Will let you know.

Blenkolove- thank you, thank you, thank you for replying and refreshing. And, I was relieved I thought it was you, but wasn’t positive. I know exactly what you mean. Love when those dreams come, feel real, try to get it back. Thank you for sharing it.,, twice. I’m rooting for another one for you.

Lsgp and Katydyd. ——Thank you so much for those links and resources!! Queenlive.ca was not on my radar at all what a cool site. Can’t wait to spend some time there. (Another link tip— I stumbled on— if put link in notes on phone and select “done” will be live)

After reading what you both shared about some of the difficulties Around that time in the tour, I was curious to see what was in Jim’s book at that timeframe:

“The following Saturday, 21 June, Queen played the Maimaritgelände, in Mannheim, Germany. At about four on the Sunday morning I was at Garden Lodge when the phone rang. It was Freddie, screaming that he’d been locked in his room and couldn’t get out. He was depressed and wanted me to fly out immediately to be with him. When I got to the hotel Freddie seemed fine, if slightly exhausted. It was nice to feel wanted. After Berlin we went on to Munich. No sooner had we arrived at the hotel than Freddie flounced out. He’d been given a very plain, drab suite and it was not to his liking”.

Just hits home on top of what you both provided that sounds like a rough period.

Thanks again.

Thor-I am adding to the well wishes. Hoping you are on your feet and pain free very soon. Take care!

JB, I checked the Queen/Freddie inventory at my library too. All they had was the Bo Rhap movie and Ratty's book.

Thor, hope you are starting to get around now. Just curious, do they still give you the medical card that alerts security at airports that if you set off the metal detector it's because you have knee replacements? I carry both of my cards in case, but I've read they are no longer valid because they could be easily duplicated. I think they just wand or xray you now, but I do my traveling by car, and you fly fairly frequently so you'd know way more than me.

Katydyd—wow, really? That’s all? Now I’m really curious. I’ll join this research mission and will report back. :-))

Rainbow- I just realize-read your post... that’s really not a lot for 32 libraries. Love that they have comic book.

Well, JB, I only checked my local library. We are a suburb of a larger city and I'll bet their library system has more to offer.

Checked and came back to edit. The large city library system has a lot of books, CD's and videos. I'm glad, I was kind of worried.

Re-read that is supposed to be. :-). Ok done.
Good night to all.

JB050...l was mainly surprised there were no Queen CDs! However to be fair, many of the libraries are very small...only one or two rooms. I found one more book to add to the library count. It's not specifically a book about Freddie, but he is mentioned in the book. It's called "Groundbreaking Guys: 40 Guys Who Became Great By Doing Good". It's an illustrated book of biographies for 10-13 year olds. The section on Freddie is located between the sections on Steven Spielberg and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Each bio is only 2 pages long. I am very curious what they say about Freddie...I may have to check it out.

What's funny is there are two CD's by Montserrat Caballe available in this library system. I think there might be some good-natured teasing between Freddie and Monteserrat over that!

Did anyone who attended one of the Queen concerts have real tickets (as opposed to mobile tickets)? If so, did you keep your ticket as a souvenir? I had to pay extra to have my tickets mailed to me. I always keep my ticket stubs. One of the Queen concert sites shows ticket stubs from over the years. What's interesting are the prices. The orchestra seats at Madison Square Garden in 1980 were $10.50. I wonder what the front row tickets cost?

Rainbow61, I wish I kept my tickets from concerts long ago. Those are such good keepsakes and nice to look at and remember once in a while. Yeah and it is interesting to see how the prices were back in the day compared to today (plus all the fees)!! Do you have all your ticket stubs from your first concert?

That book you mentioned sounds interesting. I should check out my neighborhood library too to see what books and such they have. Not sure what they have as mostly children go there! LOL :)

Rainbow, I had real tickets just because I'm old school and feel safer to have one in hand. I did throw it away...……..gasp. I'm in the process of purging my house of years of accumulated treasures/junk and that's the type of thing I don't keep anymore.

Thor - hope all went well and recovery is quick!!

Regarding the library.....there is a site, Worldcat.org where you can literally look up listings for every library in the world at once. If it is in print and being held somewhere, it should list all of the places you can find it. You just have to hope that it's close to you or works with your local library for lending.
Kinda interesting to do a Freddie Mercury search on there!

Katydyd, now I feel really technology challenged —- please tell me how you go back in and edit your post? :-). That’s cool that you found even more.

Rainbow. I 2nd HelloDelilah. Groundbreaking Guys sounds good. Was smiling reading who he was near in the book. That’s funny about the CDs and imagined teasing.

It’s so cool that people have the historical tickets.
That would be interesting to see the 1st tow pricing from the 70s.

Katydyd- trying to clean out too. Although you sound much better at it than I am. (Haha) keep bringing more in. Including;

Rainbow- I did keep the actual ticket (so far) we got VIP so we got actual ticket, laminate, and... yep, the purple “robe” see what I mean about trying to clean out. Hahaha.
