Thinking about you x

Hi all! Been a busy/fun weekend. So much fun to read and catch up on the conversations here.
Where to start. :-). To try to keep ‘em brief. :-))
Robe Q&A—
Rainbow, I put it on once so far. I agree, I have to wear it at home once in a while for fun. For visitors. Haha I’m determined to find place to wear it out.
I’m holding out hope with all of you for more concert opportunities to wear it to..
Jo T—- it is one size fits all. Impressive how they do that, and get arm length perfect. (Haha)
And guess what I have in my hands.... As it Began! Yay! I got it from Library Friday. Amidds I’m having same first few days with it you did. Looking for concentrated time to read. But have started it.
Amidds—I am so glad that you are “okay” after being in an accident. How upsetting. Really sorry to hear you went through that!!! It really does shake you up. I had one a few years ago and recall not being able to think straight at the scene at all.
I can’t tell you how excited I am that we are starting a Freddie and Queen book club!! And with all your brainpower and knowledge!! What could be better! So cool that some are even re-reading for discussion.
I feel like I’m going to need detailed notes before mine goes back to the library.
I have also preordered ...A Life in his Own Words!!!
Katydyd! Thank you so much for mentioning it. And Doughnut for the link! It ain’t coming up right away for me in US Amazon search either. I’m crazy, I know I preordered Kindle and book. Haha. Then started re-thinking hard copy.
But? I agree fun to have book delivery to look forward to. And I’ve been looking at the pics posted online of people’s Queen rooms, Queen corner, displays, I think I’ve amassed enough to have a Queen area. With the robe of course. Also got two clocks. Where / how do “you guys” keep your items? (Wow, Freddie calendar!!! Hmmmm)
Jo T. We have ring camera and people post videos of packages being stolen, one was pharmaceuticals. I sometimes go the work route too.
Thor- of course I had to look up photos of the resort. Now that is the way to recoup!! And to work.
Is it difficult, as they say, being the patient, having been in the medical field?
All- hope this wasn’t too long. And I didn’t even get in to the concert footage yet. Haha. Will save for my next post.
Be safe. Have a nice day!

Rainbow, Right! It’s crazy. I couldn’t agree with you more!!!! That sounds like a great trip to me!!!
(JB050...someone is trying to sell the book for $800? That's laughable. For $800 I will buy a plane ticket to England and go on a Queen/Freddie tour of important sites myself with my "40 Years of Queen" book as a reference! )

Have you seen this? AMAZING!!!! I want it! Haha. It’s on Facebook with link to eBay auction says 30 percent are going to Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation.
Why are you collecting $6000 you collected from little teenage girls off of Go-Fund-Me if you can afford to go to Palm Canyon resort for $150 +/- a night?
.
Or are you using those funds for your "mini-vacay"!
If you have a publishing deal, why do you need any of those funds anyway?

My family won't put up with me having a queen corner . I do have magic Freddie and hot space Freddie funko 's. They recently came to Majorca with me and I posted photos of them in different places for a fb group I am in . It really makes me smile .

You guys are great - thank you all for your concern. Jo T-you are correct, I did lose a little faith in humanity. Not due to the accident so much because these things happen. It's the lying - which has always been my biggest pet peeve. The police report is out now so I hope it gets the other parties insurance to finally step up. I have the repairs scheduled along with a rental and I'm hoping to put this all behind me soon. No, there were no injuries, thank God!
I'm also on the fence about A Life In His Own Words. I fear it will be nothing new so, please, please, please, whoever gets it....please give your opinions here. If it really does have new material, I will for sure be ordering!!
OK, JB, when I first started watching that video, I couldn't help but thinking it was some sort of abstract art that I couldn't understand but, WOW, that guy is talented!!! Wish I could do that! Of course, then I'd have those paintings all over my house and my husband would probably divorce me. Hmmm....now that I think about it, where can I order those?!?! (jk)
Doughnut-see page 153 of the book. I can't find the other reference to "dark times" but there is a quote from Brian here that is a little ambiguous. It seems as if, career wise, things were going pretty well and I understand there was pretty intense partying going on at the time BUT it seems like more than that. Let me know what you think. Any, anyone else that has read/is reading. Maybe we should move to that other page for this book club. With so many reading/re-reading, this could get real interesting!
I also agree with the $800! Seriously? It's a decent read but it is also not my fave. It's pretty dry and factual which is fine, lots of interesting material, but definitely keeps it out of that price point!! Love the idea of spending it on a FM/Queen tour - let's get Phoebe, Thor and Lee to meet up with us and give us the tour! (OMG can you even imagine?)

Doughnut, you asked Rainbow why she didn't list As It Began as a top fav, but I think you might have been addressing me. It's good book and one I have in my collection, but I've only read it once. I'm about to reread it now. I prefer my books to be Freddie centered and AIB is about the whole band. It's interesting, but not my usual reread. For example, as soon as I read the Minns/Evans book I immediately turned around and read it again. Since then I've read it at least twice more. I've read Phoebe's book and also Jim's at least three times each, I suspect more. When I first began on this journey I devoured every book (except LAJ ) as fast as I could get my hands on them. Then as I learned more I began to reread the books and found new information based on the knowledge I was building. I love to learn about the band, but it's not my focus. Nothing more than that to my statement.
JB, my Queen books are all over the house. Coffee table books are all downstairs, chapter books up in my bedroom. My Funko dolls are on my kitchen windowsill. I have one canvas print of Freddie here in what my grandkids call my "office". I just had my whole interior painted and now the canvas print is kind of lonely looking. When my son hung it he wanted to know if I was sure I wanted it by itself on white walls. Oh yeah...……..perfect timing! I told him that I want to collect a few more canvas prints and that it would be a lovely idea for me for Christmas. Then I can have a mini gallery. His eyes are probably still rolling, but hopefully he took the hint. Right now I have a Queen calendar in the kitchen and a hummingbird calendar in the office. Next year I want a Queen calendar and the Freddie calendar. Where did you find your clocks JB?

Amidds I'll have a,look but Paul prenter was a bone of contention for the band during the time as Brian had since confirmed that Paul was telling radio stations in the us that Freddie wouldn't do interviews saying ' Freddie says f off '
He was also said to have been tel!ing Freddie he was better than the band and was encouraging him to leave them . Thankfully for us fans , his solo album didn't do so well and Freddie got a wake up call . The band apparently arranged a,meeting without paul knowing to discuss their future . Soon after Freddie let paul go .

doughnut...thanks for the book info. You and Katydyd convinced me...I ordered my copy of "A Life In His Own Words" today! Looks like a bunch of us might be getting our books around the same time. Regarding "Queen: As It Began", I really liked that book. I read it over a year and a half ago, so a slower reread is certainly in order! It's very thorough...as a fact-oriented person, I was happy with that amount of detail. I also like that it was authorized by the members of Queen.
JB050...The only Queen display I have is of my Funko-Pop dolls that I keep on my kitchen counter. I have seven of those...3 Freddies, 2 Brians, 1 Roger, and 1 John. I bought the extra Brian to paint his hair, but haven't found the right shade of "Brian May Gray" yet. I tried twice, but the colors didn't look right, so I had to wipe the paint off each time! I also have a few Queen magnets on my refrigerator. I have two Freddie Mercury mouse pads...one for home and the other for work! The goofiest item I have is a VERY tiny Freddie Lego doll that I keep next to my home computer.

Hi doughnut
If link doesn’t work, try going to google or YouTube and search Arte de Dave Santia. Should be first two that come up. Let me know if that doesn’t work.
Robe pics to follow. Not home now but will also take a full length.
