Doughnut, the book sounds better and better. I find it extremely interesting that reasons behind the songs are included. I thought that was something they never liked to do????? I'm fascinated. That particular book isn't too expensive in the US but some have been completely ridiculous! I'm a rather....
um....frugal person so I just thought it would be nice to have a place to fall back on that didn't tent to rip people off lol.
Your comment about Peter and Brian reminded me that, on the forum where I found that podcast link, there was another link to a tweet from Brian with a comment about Ratty being a disgruntled ex-employee regarding the interview. It's funny because I didn't get that feeling from Ratty, nor that he
wasn't too happy with Brian. Is there a story there?
Fredfie, I attempted to type Amidds a few times to see if it would auto correct and it did not. We can just chalk it up to your "predictive text" *ahem*. Now when I type my real name, I get a lot of predictive crap that makes no sense. Well, with a name like Aloysius, what can I expect?
No, that's not my name, lol!! Just hoping to give a chuckle or two.....
Hi everyone….doing some catching up…
Thor…We will all be happy when you are fully healed and enjoying the benefits of your new knee...when you can dance to your favorite Queen song again! Hope you are still able to see Lee at the end of the month...not to work on the book, but just to get away!
Regarding recently mentioned books: I bought most of mine in 2016/17 before “Queen Mania” hit! So they were relatively inexpensive on Amazon (used but in excellent condition). I have 1) Queen: Ultimate Illustrated History of the Crown Kings of Rock by Phil Sutcliffe: $3.74 2) 40 Years of Queen: $17.84 (minus the DVD) I think both books are great and would definitely recommend.
Another book I own that I haven’t seen mentioned is: Queen-The Complete Illustrated Lyrics. This is not an informational book with background info about the records. It is simply a 390 page book with the alphabetized lyrics of all Queen’s songs along with beautiful photos on every other page. Have you ever found yourself singing along to one of their songs…but then you get to a part where you can’t quite figure out some of the words, so you fudge it, either putting in your own words or just humming along until the familiar chorus comes back around? (Killer Queen is a song that comes to mind...there were sections I could not figure out no matter how many times I listened to it). Now all I have to do is pop open my book. I know I can look up lyrics online, but this is faster...and much more fun!
Doughnut...The Georg Purvis book sounds interesting. Will put that on my "to buy" list. Glad to hear you got tickets to the Queen+AL concert next summer. You will LOVE the show!
Amidds...Thanks for the link to "We Thank You all". Had watched it a long time ago, but enjoyed seeing again. The interviews were great...but the background music was maddening!
Katydyd...Funny story about your granddaughter. Love her new title for "Fat Bottomed Girls". By the way, did she get around to drawing you that Freddie picture? As far as Little Debbie snacks...the fudge brownies with walnuts are the best! :)
Sorry US citizens! I just discovered the Freddie in his own words book is NOT on sale at that price in the USA . Apologies for any disappointment caused!
I’m catching up. :). Just skimmed.
Hi Rainbow! I have/live the complete Lyrics too!!
More soon
Have a good day all!
Rainbow, agree on the background music! What were they thinking?
Fredfie, really? "predictive texts", micro fiche and now unnecessarily cruel teasing? *sigh* What are we going to do with you lol? I find it very odd they they would put it on sale in select markets. I did get it for free from Amazon on my Kindle but have heard that Amazon can pull it back at any time
so was looking to buy.
Doughnut, ordered and expect to receive the book tomorrow! Sooo excited!!!
JB, where the heck have you been?
We US citizens always suffer. We seemed to always come in last.Just kidding it's good some of us have friends that don't live in the US.However I do love growing up here in USA.
I was referring to FreddieDs post
I would love to have this as a real music box. Such a soothing and lovely sound. Just beautiful!

Hi Amidds!! Thank you for checking on me!!’
I’m here, I’m here..week isn’t giving many chances to stay caught up. (Haha) I will catch up soon. :))
I have to say, I get the best out-loud laugh when I see you consistently using Fredfie. :—))) so funny and endearing.
Love the conversations happening!
More really soon.....
Rainbow!!! Ohhhh what a great find! I think we would all have to have that on our must-have list. Now let the search begin to see if a music box like that exists.... I’m sure you are 20 steps ahead of me. Love, love, love that!!
Anyone else play Sporcle. I have the app.
Haven’t played
In a while. (Trivia)
So, strictly coincidence when I opened it tonight and saw this
Poor put upon me! Boo hoo! :'-( I'm everybody's whipping-boy! I'm even to blame for teeny tiny text! And now false advertising! :-D
Seriously, sorry about the disappontment. I never gave it a thought that it might be only a U.K. offer from.Amazon as when I looked on amazon.com it was listed as $1.21. Guess they recognised my I.P. Address as being England based. I hope they offer it to other countries at this price soon.
Aloysius, (see THAT wasn't corrected! ) huh? Very sophisticated!:-) Just like the teddy bear of Sebastian Flyte in Brideshead Revisited. (Who was an House of Nisbet teddy bear.) You should adopt that pseudonym, or do you prefer Sniffs U ?
Did I tell you all that tonight (Friday) at 9 P.M. And Sunday at 4 p.m (GMT) Greatest Hits Radio are broadcasting a special.Never Boring programme with Greg Brooks about Freddie's solo career in line with this new box set release/ You have to register to listen to it, and verify registration via email. I'll attach the link.
Have a good day, Peeps !
