We know that in general, Freddie did not like doing interviews. I wonder if there were ever any stipulations given to interviewers ahead of time such as the length of the interview, topics that were off-limits etc.?
One of my all-time favorite Freddie interview moments was during the Rock In Rio interview when Freddie reached over and "pinched" the cheek of the interviewer! Certainly one of the best interviews is the one with Mary Turner in 1984. She has such a relaxed style, her questions were great, and it's the only time I recall Freddie ever talking about his parents or his upbringing. It's audio only...but I don't mind that. This is the one where Freddie says, "Phoebe, want some more wine, some more wine."
TUHI...That's funny about the husbands getting together. There must also be some guys out there whose wives do the "eye roll" as well! Maybe every big Freddie/Queen fan has someone: A spouse, partner, child, friend, or parent who wonders about them!
Katydyd...I always watch Freddie's eyes during any interview. He is so beautifully expressive.

JB050...I took a look at my AIB book to see that statistic about the limitation of number-one records in France. You got me me curious about it, so I did a bit of searching. On Wikipedia, I found a list of Number 1 singles in France in 1978. "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions" was the Number 1 record for 2 weeks that year. "You're The One That I Want" by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John was Number 1 for 15 weeks, obviously exceeding the 12 week limit. I have no idea what the book is referring to. Maybe I am looking at the wrong list?

You were mentioning that Freddie "sacked" 3 people in the '80's, and yes, one I would, I'd say, definitely Prenter (hiss !!!) whom Freddie sacked after Prenter had trashed Freddie's Stafford Terrrace flat, where Freddie was letting Prenter live, during a party.
Another one, I think is Peter Jones who was a chauffeur Freddie used for several years. Apparently Jones lost his international driving license due to a drink driving charge (a dipsomaniac chauffeur! Great!) and then was banned in Britain, too. And instead of talking to Freddie about it (which Phoebe reckons would have resulted in Jones being retained in a new capacity) he simply didn't phone in, or turn up at all, leaving Freddie no choice but to dismiss him.
Can't think of the third person, but there must have been so many people in "satellite" positions working for Freddie over time.
Hope we are all well. I do hope that we soon have some more encouraging news from Thor and that he is feeling more comfortable and on the road to recovery soon.
I'll leave you with this thought. I saw the attached photograph of Freddie's Montreux statue online (a beautiful picture) and it occurred to me, wouldn't it be lovely if we could have a webcam trained on this lovely statue, so we could see the weather, and sights he was experiencing? :-) it may also cut back on the occasional spate of vandalism, our poor Freddie has experienced!)

I frequently tell him that it’s grounds for divorce and have told both that they are not invited on my Montreux trip ??. I am bringing my daughter cause, even tho she rolls her eyes at me, she does that with everything so……

JB, THE trip is never far from my mind. I have the dates and it seems the only tickets I will have to buy would be for the boat trip if it happens and for the party at the casino. We will prob schedule to be there 9/4 and 9/5 then on to who knows where. Would like to spend all 4 days there but trying to be respectful of those I am traveling with. I will just be grateful to be there at all!

Just saw on Instagram that Phoebe will be in London tomorrow doing some interviews. He will be on the Lorriane (???) show amongst others. I'm sure us Americans won't be lucky enough to hear but some of you others will (Fredfie!).
