Lamebird is not even an artist he is a hired gun in form of a twat who could not write a song if his life depended on it and who sounds like a raped goat

I can’t bring up your link to save me. This one seems to be a music video version:

Doesn’t sound very powerful to me!

Adam can't hit the chorus that powerfully. Nor is he as delicate as Freddie during Freddie's verses.

Not hearing the big difference. Freddie sounds pretty quiet and breathy in the beginning of the song and has a lot of music to back him up when he gets to the Save Me Part. Adam has a beautiful clear tenor and keeps it more restrained until the second set of Save Mes and then his powerful voice is also heard and his musical backing is really subdued. I just don't hear this vast difference in what you call power. Adam's voice is much lighter due to being a real tenor and the weight of the voices is going to differ and it has nothing to do with power. He can blast you out of this forum with some of the power in songs such as SMGO, WWTLF, and many more. None of you seem to understand that deeper voices sound different and to the untrained ear, you attribute that mistakenly to power. I have sat in a venue with Adam singing at least 10 times and his voices hits the rafters. You people do not know what you are talking about!
Lighter... what's your definition of lighter?
Adam can't hit The Show Must Go On or Who Wants To Live Forever as powerfully as Freddie can... those are beyond capacity for most. Adam can't do those like Freddie could. He's not nearly as loud, either.

To one of Sniffles points it’s kind of true that despite being successful, Freddie was weirdly under rated by contemporaries at the time. And famously rarely got critical acclaim. His rise to true legend status simply vindicates what real fans knew all along. In some ways he was hidden in plain sight.
But I can’t believe this Lambert discussion is even taking place. He is only doing a job that enables Brian and Roger to tour. He is technically able for that show, which is at a more sedate pace than a real Queen gig.
Can you imagine the Freddie Mercury of 1984 touring with 70 year old guys.
And actually Lambert’s voice is just horrible. There’s people like Michael Stipe and Lou Reed who could barely sing that have far better true voices with feeling in them,

That is your opinion and not mine. The reason he is not as popular is that IMO he is not singing the right music for his voice. He is really good at singing a lot of the Queen music, and some of his covers are better than the original when he has covered other artists. I enjoy his own music, but it sure isn't Queen or some of the others I enjoy. I like his new video but I am not feeling Velvet so far, other than that one and the first that came out. Adam doesn't do a great job at picking out songs that really illustrate his voice, I think if he sang Classical or what I call Light Classical, he would be tremendously popular. I think it is much more about the musical choices than anything to do with his voice. I don't find him boring. He is anything but that! He puts on a dynamite show with Queen. I could also find lots of really tacky outfits Freddie wore. I don't think anything beats those ballet slippers and onesies. I wouldn't bring up fashion choices if I were you. Freddie was way out there for the times. Goodness knows what he might wear today. I have a feeling he might give Adam a run for his money. I am sure Adam doesn't fit the bill for some long term Queen fans, but there are many that have gone to the darkside and have enjoyed the concerts. Both Freddie and Adam are acquired tastes. Not everyone liked Freddie back in the day. He is much more popular now than he ever was back then, so you never know where Adam's popularity will fall at the end of the day. Music is in the ear of the beholder! It would be boring if we all loved the same thing!
I'm not a fan of the ballet outfits of Freddie, either. Nor am I of Adam's outfits... he tries too hard.
Freddie was EXTREMELY popular back when he was around. Queen had top selling music... Freddie's last albums were all #1 and his last #1 single was Innuendo.
Queen were huge worldwide. And though not many people consider it, look at Billboard Magazine in the 80's when Queen releases happened. Maybe their albums never always reached the top 20 in the USA, but they did reach the Billboard Top 10 in terms of CD sales... which were separate from the Billboard Top 200 at the time. Queen were definetly an east coast / west coast band, not conservative America.
Queen were very very huge worldwide while Freddie was alive. So huge in Brazil, Mexico. All the other smaller countries, too.
Freddie himself was recognized by everyone, he WAS Queen in terms of non-hardcore Queen fans.
Freddie and Queen were and still are also a "band's band".... high tech and innovative, very popular amongst their peers and new artists.
Queen are the most popular band in the world... even more popular than the Beatles. If the world is still around in 500 years, or a 1000 years, Adam's part of Queen won't be remembered by the general population, only music historians. That's a fact.
Adam's music doesn't sell because the people at current Queen shows are there to see Roger and Brian while they get the chance. Adam is a guest, and he's not their choice. Why do they need to see him? Listening is better. While you old ladies want to adore him, the hardcore Queen fans don't. They want to see Roger and Brian. They aren't buying Adam's music, and apparently neither are his fans.
Even before the movie came out, Queen was on the charts. They are always in the charts for their Greatest Hits albums... and also for digital singles. They've been in the charts for decades, and now a whole new generation just got into Queen.
But Adam... he's a novely act. If he was so passionate with music, he'd try to write a nice, meaningful song of his own... maybe create a band even. I think he needs a pop/rock band, then maybe he'd be better off. No hard rock. Sadly, he, like many others, only want to be a solo act, to get recognition. While he's popular on social media and in magazines, his sales have dwindled severely. Most people who like Adam probably don't even buy his music.

All I can say is that Freddie was not universally appreciated before he unfortunately passed away. He was not regarded as the greatest rock singer ever back then.
But despite being a current artist, Adam Lambert is not even ranked. That means he's outside of the top 500 most listened to artists lol.
And that's why his music doesn't sell. The majority, probably 90% at Queen shows, go to see Brian and Roger... not Adam.
If Adam was so popular with his music, it'd be selling, and he wouldn't be selling his music on an indie label.
His fans will argue that, though. They haven't once on this thread acknowledged his lack of sales, they only explain why he's so great.

I much prefer either Michael Stipe's voice or Lou Reed's to Lambert's thin, grating voice.

I read someone say, "Adam's singing the wrong music..."
Well, when you put a song in front of Freddie from any genre... he'd nail it, and it'd sound perfect. He wrote such diverse things, the other members as well. Freddie didn't have to be limited. Adam limits himself be being a solo artist trying to do that computerized dance music... it's crap. According to his sales figures, nearly everyone agrees.

And what are these mad statements about Twitter and Spotify and Taylor and Drake whoever they are. Unbelievable. You have to compare like with like. Queen are a 70s rock band. Record sales and a Spotify listeners indicate the music is popular but clearly there will be more fans of older groups who are not even on these sites. What music is actually on Twitter?
Lambert is from the social media generation and features nowhere. All this just highlights how insignificant he is when compared to Queen or “Drake” (ps who?)

I have a question for the Freddie “experts.”
Why did Freddie perform with no top on top? Did he think he had a beautiful physique he wanted to show off? Or did he swear so profusely he decided it is better to have nothing on at all? I know that wasn’t always the case, but what was the reason when he did it? Performing in a hot venue or country? Just curious because I have never heard an explanation.

Spot on. Next this OAP bimbo will be reminding us that Fred's dead, in a fit of pique reminiscent of a petulant, spoiled and ugly little brat.

There are singers just from American Idol with more character and soul in their performances than Lambert -- people like Phil Phillips and Crystal Bowersox. And they're musicians too.
