Has anyone else noticed new fans to Queen dribbling on about how Queen were "family" since the movie came out? And Lambert fans dribbling on about how Brian and Roger and Adam are "family"?

I don't think that members of Queen were so close as they want to show it. With Adam also. But it's all show business. It's not such important thing to me.

New fans are generally young and the young generally have a very simplified idea of what adult life and working relationships are like. Generally.

There are blood families who aren't that close and who only stick together for monetary purposes, so in that case they'd also apply (whether you count Brian, Roger, Philip, Adam, etc., as a family or Roger, John, Brian and Frederick as a family, etc.).

Apart from Queen they never were too close. And I am talking about the REAL QUEEN not QAL. Brian and Freddie were business partners and bandmembers of Queen. John wsa closest to Freddie

Sad thing is most of the YOung fans believe the crap BoRHap was catering. That's the worst part of this crap movie. It will do more harm in the long run

He means runner. The person, who was asked to leave the German Queen Fanclub Forum and who has been going on spreading his hate all over the internet. Or at least in the places, where no mods throw him out. Runner understands the comment perfectly.

Well there are different levels of closeness in families. Many families are dysfunctional. Do you know that 50 percent of humans born have at least one dysfunctional parent according to my psychotherapist (yeah I go for psychotherapy) and something like a further 50 percent of those have two.... I'm one of the 50 percent of the 50 percent so I can tell you that I'm closer to my friends and work colleagues than I am to any of my family. My experience of a family is not people who will be there for you through thick and thin, blood thicker than water and all that, my experience is something quite different.
Anyway sob story aside, there was a familial element to their working as a group of four people during the time that they worked in that original line-up. They were dysfunctional, got heated, hated each other and actually in the last few years cared for Freddie pretty well by giving him a secure working environment. They all had pretty separate social lives though and we know that for a time they only met when they had to work together.
So they might have been like a family, but not a stable, loving family. More like a dysfunctional marriage that stays together for the sake of the kids (the income, the albums, the adulation), and out of that grew some pretty great music.

Yeah sorry, totally forgot about you English speaking guys at that moment. I just asked him if he doesn't have any better hobbies than trolling on the internet. He's just a pain in the ass. I totally accept that he doesn't like Adam Lambert or that he's got some problems with everything Queen or, like he would say, the remaining members do, but c'mon. If I don't like something I try to avoid it and let the people be happy with it. He will not change a single opinion with his trolling. He was banned from the official German Fanclub forum too, because of this annoying behaviour.
