Did you all know John Deacon wrote "Back Chat" to get back at Brian when he was bullying john about including some guitar licks in the song? Brian was very against The Hot Space album and difficult to work with at that time so i have been reading from fans, and even at a Hot Space press conference John sat next to Brian but Brian never looked at John once even when he was speaking as Brian was fuming...........Freddie said Brian was always difficult in the studios and once said he had not punched him yet but there was still time !

Apparently this story is very well documented among Queen fans and is old news!

What? No. How could John write a song about an incident that was happening about a song that had been written already?

Brian was already having a dig at John while John was writing "Back Chat" and john did not really want any guitar licks on the song so Brian got lippy with John
and a row began....... the rest is history Hint the lyric towards Brian " You stand so tall you don't frighten me at all don't talk back don't talk back just leave me alone"

While this isn’t my favorite song, the background of it is interesting if true.
If we could get a source, that would be great. Just wondering how would the fans know what happened unless they were there or are they speculating?
Regardless, I could see how John could’ve written this in the context he did just by observing their personalities. John doesn’t say much but can really punch back when he wants to. :)

His tiny pea sized brain. He's just inventing theories to proliferate his personal vendetta against Brian.
This hateful character would've been banned from literally any other forum ages ago.

It's just pure bollocks.

^^^ More than likely is pure bollocks but even if it were true it's meaningless, they regularly had disagreements in the studio, I'd wager most bands do when you have people all with their own ideas of what's best and differing tastes in music, they've said the push and pull in the studio is what made for great music.

I thought I remembered his username from some other bullshit, that's why I asked for a source. Thanks for the confirmation!

Maybe John did write a song about an incident that was happening about a song that had been written already. However, it's also possible that the song is an angry prediction that 2 years later Brian would insist on having a guitar solo in I Want to Break Free. John's original idea was that he would play a face-melting solo on his triangle. Apparently, ahem, -- and this story is very well documented among Queen fans and is old news! -- John originally called the song I Want to Break Brian's Legs, but was talked out of it by Fred.
