Not sure which part they were doing but God was that awful listening to that same bit over and over.

Some of the fine details (the 's' sounds, for example) sound to be muffled, which leads me to believe that the person who made that remix probably just used spectral editing and filtering to isolate the vocals.
Someone just took AKOM from Queen Karaoke, used Center plugin from Waves on "A kind of vision" and slapped the 2 together...
It's odd they did that for this type of video.
