It was probably as a favor to Adam since they are his "friends". I don't think Brian looks at money anymore as the main motivator. He has said that before, He does things like tour, because it is fun and they enjoy Adam. He doesn't need to do any of it at this point in his life. There comes a point at his age where you just have enough. Maybe that is how you are, a greedy old fart, and you project yourself into anything QAL related. As I said, the stuff I read here by real Queen member (shock!!) is pretty nasty.

I doubt Queen members are Posting here. Would be cool if John was here anonymously to bash his ex collegues. They would have deserved it

“Since when is a birthday party a corporate gig?”

Corporate, private. Not much of a difference... it’s a limited audience. Peter Freestone discussed this. Freddie declined those offers because, Peter’s words, Freddie didn’t want to be “a puppet” and thus is why he declined such things. Freddie was his own boss, not a hired band by some yuppies. Read Peter’s books, you’ll learn a lot.

Freddie preferred huge concerts performing for a general Queen audience and for anyone else who wished to come. The more people, the merrier.[/QUOTE]

These things are a lot more common now than they were in the 80s. Virtually every artist plays private events nowadays.

And just because they're getting paid doesn't mean the money is their primary motivator.

Even if Mercury were still alive, maybe he would've changed his mind, because people can change. The intimacy of a smaller audience is something plenty of artists come to desire later in life. Quality over quantity. Or they can enjoy both for different reasons.

Yeah playing in front of a drunk birthday crowd who probably only know WWRY and WATC is completely fulfilling. Idiot.

And how would you know if they were drunk or what songs they know, were you there?

I guess that they came for the birthday in the first place and QAL were their Background music. Idiot.

So people who go to a birthday party can't possibly be actual Queen fans and know more than two songs? You'd think being one of the biggest bands in the world lots of people would know Queen music, birthday guests and music lovers aren't mutually exclusive.

Fact is they do it because they get good $$$$$ and they don't care who is in the audience. Surely not a Queen crowd. Full stop. You been owned again. Next.

So you're calling someone an idiot for understanding something you don't, and you "guess" you know why?

Dunning Kruger effect, yet again.

You make this way too easy.
