You don't say things as egregious as that, but you do more than your share of creating a vile, argumentative unwelcoming vibe in the QAL subforum.[/QUOTE]

It's like when someone said SweetCaroline should die, or kill herself, I actually had something to say to the poster who said it as well. But what you do, is always paint me the bad one here. Thing is much worse has been said, for example what the poster said above, but it's me who does my share of creating get a vile vibe you say...Got it.

Hate to sound like a broken record but today was exactly one month since tickets went on sale and...

still not ONE sold out show. Not one.

Unless new tickets have been added Manchester has been sold out for weeks.

I'm only repeating this because you keep repeating the question. Is there a crisis in ticket sales? NO.

8 months till the shows, over 90% sold. Big Advertising push for the remaining tickets probably won't kick in till the spring.

And even if they don't sell out, they've already made millions of euros in profits. Your concern seems misplaced.

Most shows don't sell out. See billboard chart of top grossing shows for details.

Also... not sure why you care. Genuine befuddlement as to what your point is.
If they were only 40 to 50% sold you'd have something to question, but selling 14000 tickets in a 15000 arena is hardly a crisis.
Especially... and this point cant be over emphasised... as the shows arent happening till next year.

Brian and Roger can go home at night and sleep on a bed of dollar bills, burn them in the morning, repeat... and still be in profit.

Queen and Freddie would sell out a concert in minutes... and they were huge concerts much bigger than what Queen and Adam do these days!

MisterCosmicc, Not in the USA though! Queen + Adam played to the biggest ever US crowd in Queen history on the 28th of September this year! Also Queen + AL sold out multiple times the same venues Queen played in the 70s (not Queen and Freddie ffs) By the way, Queen + AL last year's UK tour (about 25 dates) was sold out in less than an hour.

You are referring to that free Global Citizen concert they shared the bill with?

That’s not entirely true. The expensive VIP or platinum tickets didn’t sell out that fast. It was the same as it’s now in Germany: the regular seats (including added seats with restricted view) are sold out. A few really expensive ones are left.

That wasn’t a dedicated Queen concert. It featured other artists performing that night. I don’t include Live Aid as Queen’s representation on numbers either, because other artists were there to perform.

The fact is that Queen + AL played the same size venues in the USA as original Queen even before the movie.

Queen + AL were the Global Citizen headliners, so the majority of the crowd were there to see them. The Life Aid was different of course as Queen were added later to the event so it wasn't their crowd at all.

Also, the last Queen + AL UK tour did sell in less than one hour. Overpriced premium tickets maybe took longer to sell but it's not the point. I'm sure if Queen wanted £380 + per ticket in 1980s it would've been taken them longer to sell as well.

In the 70's and 80's Queen sold out a lot of US arenas but never sold out an entire US tour. .

There appears to be a lot of myth surrounding their ticket selling abilities back in the day. In the UK they were huge, but the NOTW dates and Game Tour dates sold out but amounted to two arenas on each tour and they elected to play Wembley which was smaller than Earls Court. . . Most of Europe but not all sold out on both those tours.

They are playing seven nights, in the UK, at two arenas next year with between 18 to 20 thousand available each night.

Through Europe they play to sometimes bigger audiences now because like the UK there are now more and larger arenas available.

In Australia even if they don't sell out the tour they will still be playing bigger audiences than they ever played in the 80's in that country.

Both with Rodgers and Lambert they have played to bigger audiences in Europe ( Cosmos Rocks Ukraine and Lambers first show) than they did with Freddie. The sold out Magic tour, despite the publicity didn't sellout at every European venue (most did) apart from the UK which sold very quickly. In general they seem to draw the same sized audiences in Japan as they did back in the day

They could probably never equal the 81 South American dates, but I wonder if the original lineup could, I think those shows were a reflection of that point in history of the countries they played, the market places of the time and of course the band.

As a live act world wide I think they are as big and success now as they ever where not withstanding 81 South America or The Magic tour.

One other thing to remember is that they never reached Led Zeppelin scales of success in the US or The Rolling Stones world wide. And at the moment Metallica, Muse, The Rolling Stones and The Foo Fighters tour regularly at a similar or sometimes bigger level than The Magic tour

@AngelR

So your point is that this current tour is selling SLOWER in the UK than the last tour before the movie, right?

Interesting.

Who would have ever thought this would be the case? I'm sure Brian and Roger didn't...much to their chagrin.

But there is a huge difference between the last UK tour and the upcoming one: Last time they played 11 cities all over the UK. This time they only play 2 cities. I bet, that this tour would have sold out already, had they decided to play more cities.
Not everyone is ready to travel to London. Or able to do so. Some shows are in the middle of the week. Tickets are also more expensive this time. And you would need a hotel and travel costs as well.

Nevertheless, there are only single seats for a lot of money left. I think, the tour still sells very similar to the last one.
