Long may King Mercury reign and he will still be talked about in 100 years time !
Yes, he will. I don't doubt it.

This thread does not say that Adam is the best singer ever or better than Freddie or anyone else who is now deceased. It says he is the best singer currently in the here and now. Brancelli thinks Dimash is better. Everyone has their own subjective opinion. My opinion is that you can’t see everything on a video because the scope is limited. When you are there in person you see the whole view and not just a small portion.
How would you know if AL is the best live singer on the planet. You haven't seen every other artist to compare. Here's how I see it. You want to promote and big him up no matter what. I think you are trying to convince yourself and any "new" posters you think have a chance in converting. Your tastein music is limited, extremely limited, it's all about AL for you. So for you to say AL is the best singer live, or best singer right now, when his own solo music isn't all that great...I think you get a sick kick out things by saying AL is here and Freddie’s not here, so of course to you, AL is the best in your limited world. You gloat, and you brag. I just hope your words never come back to bite you on the ass.
You knock down more popular artists because you are jealous and angry about their successes. And yes, you said you were angry and jealous. Your own words.
As for not being there in person to see a show, here's the thing. You have never attended a Sam Smith or Adele concert, and some of us know what you think about them. So once again, you are a hypocrite again. Or still a hypocrite. I'm sure if Freddie was still here, you'd be knocking him down to make AL look better, actually you've already knocked Freddie down to make AL look better. Pretty galling to do it on a Queen board.
As for Brancelli, he doesn't promote, big up, spam about Dimash like you do about AL 24/7. So please don't try to use Brancelli to try to back up what you do. Brancelli has been nothing but respectful to anyone who is discussing things with him. You could learn something from him. Brancelli likes Dimash, but you don't see him acting the way you do. You don't see Brancelli spam posting right after the other, trying to convince people that Dimash is the greatest...and that's a world of difference than what you do.

Basically my take on Q+AL is that I accept it as a legacy act. Adam Lambert is actually a good singer in that he's technically proficient.
I also accept that it's more musical theatre now, and Adam Lambert does look more like a rock star parody than an actual rock star at times.
I don't share the view - Brian May's view - that Freddie would be, in any way, jealous of Adam Lambert. I think he would be impressed by his technique, although he might not like the sound of Lambert's voice but that's open to speculation.
Things are also very different now. Adam Lambert has vocal coaches and continuous training to help him produce a certain sound, a homogenised sound yes, that is the standard production tone in musical theatre and perhaps some pop music.
My Summarization ...
QAL is a legacy act that is, at times, more musical theatre with AL looking like a rock star parody rather than an actual rock star.
AL is a technically proficient singer, but has a homogonized tone that is standard in musical theatre, ... but inappropriate for hard rock.

A lot of the fans go for B & R and the music, the fact they think Adam does a good job won't make them automatically love his solo stuff since it's so different so although he gets exposure he doesn't get tons of new fans that way.
SweetCaroline disagrees.
I know of Queen fans who have gone only to get a glance of seeing Brian and Roger.
I know some people would go just because going to concerts is fun.
Some diehard Queen fans don't mind Adam singing for them (I don't mind if he continues touring with Queen, I wish I had gotten to see the concert in NYC just for the experience and I live so close).
I know Adam has his own fans there, but if you think about it, it dwarfs in comparison to Queen. That's why there's a lot of arguments here, because people come here, his worshippers, and they big him up, and act as though he's the best thing ever... but you're on a page for Queen and Freddie... us here think Freddie's the best thing ever, and critics tend to agree. Queen are huge... they are the biggest, most famous band in the world.
Well said.
I think a person or two here forget that they actually post on a Queen board.
I also agree wholeheartedly. The QAL section would be a lot more peaceful without SC's hyperbole and hatred of hard-core Queen fans.

How can you believe AL is the best "current" live singer on the planet, if you have only seen a handful of non-deceased singers in concert?
The QAL QZ forum would be a lot more peaceful without you shouting "fire" and spamming all the time.

I've known for four or five years SweetCaroline has disliked me. Well, more recently she hates me.
But for her to judge Queen fans the way she does, is awful. Instead of digging her heels in trying to backtrack, she could admit she was wrong, or say sorry. But she won't. She harbours more than a grudge at this point. I think she truly hates Queen fans as well as she hates me.

Here is a great video for all of you to watch :-) , it's about vocalists rating:

I better not tell my wife that Josh Grobin did not make the cut on this "great?" arbitrary video ...

I see that the video did not downgrade any vocalists for having a homgenous non-distinctive voice. Most of the vocalists in this video left me cold.
The video rated Nate Ruess (whoever he is) as only a C+, and apparently did not give much credit for his pleasant, powerful, unique and distinctive style. I believe he deserved an A rating.
However, I have not seen Nate Ruess live, so apparently my opinion is worthless.
Anyone else rated that was rated B+ or lower was indistinctive, except for Lionol Richie who was severely underrated and should have received a top STAR rating.
Bono and Axl did not deserve their A ratings, as their voices are only distinctive in that their voices have a consistent grating annoying sound "quality". I would give them at best a C rating comparable to what Ozzy might deserve.
In my opinion, Steven Tyler, Marvin Gaye and Phil Collins were underrated and should have gotten the top STAR rating. George Michael also clearly deserved the A rating that he received.
To me, Steve Perry, Freddie Mercury and Stevie Wonder were the only vocalists presented that received the top STAR rating and genuinely deserved the top rating. Frank Sinatra's phony voice deserved a B rating (or worse).
How did Elvis, Paul McCartney, Robin Zander, Geddy Lee, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, and Elton John not receive a top STAR rating (or get rated at all)???

The criteria was defined at the start of video. It’s a video about technical skill, not distinctive voices, or tone of voice. Axl has a ton of skill but one could argue it’s not very palatable. Nate Ruess actually said Adam Lambert was his favorite singer. I can see why he was rated low though, because even though his voice sounds strong and pleasing at times, he is very pitchy and doesn’t have much control live. Anyway, good to see Freddie, Adam (and Dimash) there towards the end, all 3 with star ratings.
