Don’t think rockchic is defending Caroline. Many times I’ve suggested scrolling past and ignoring posts by runner, and it is certainly not in defense of runner. Easy to see her point, and easy to simply ignore.
The problem here is that every thread devolves into the tireless nonsense. This thread was doomed from the beginning. Especially when the original poster created it with the intention of promoting Adam (bigging him up?) bypassing QAL altogether. Best live singer on the planet. She knew that would stir up a reaction here.

Wrong as usual - I'm a Queen fan and listen to Queen all the time (orginal Queen), I have tons of their music on a playlist in the car which I redo and rotate from time to time mixed in with a few other artists music that I love. On that playlist there are three of Adam's songs, one of which is a cover, not sure that makes me a glambert or preferring Adam I just don't see that endlessly calling him or arguing for years with SC has any point to it any more than arguing with runner or gerry would.

You're right I'm not defending her I'm just defending anyone's right to like who they like and at this point I don't actually know if her posts are designed to stir up trouble or that she really doesn't get why not everyone is as enamoured with Adam as she is but regardless the reason the end result on every thread is the same page after page of nonsense about her, at this point every thread might as well be called lets argue with SC or about her, I just think there's more important things in life and complaining about a few links in the scheme of things is petty. At the moment there's nothing happening in the QAL world until January so nothing much to post about really but petty squables for years and years are just tedious IMO.

As for SweetCaroline, she has admitted recently as to why she does what she does, you were right. It's done to relatalite for things some say about AL.

No one can be forced to be a fan of any person/group or be still bothered about something that happened 28 years ago, some people just aren't made that way and my comments about the 24th were in relation to that. Some fans are very emotional and will go to Switzerland just to stand in front of a statue of Freddie or attend the party each year in Switzerland and probably think about him every day and still mourn as if he were a family member but there are other fans who loved the music, loved to see him live and were sad for him and the band when he died but have moved on and though still love the music don't feel that same sense of loss 28 years later and I daresay the same happens in real life, some people lose a partner and remarry after a couple of years, others can't ever contemplate being with someone else and still can't get over their loss until they die - there's no one way to be and no one way to be a fan and I would defend anyone's right not to be made to feel bad for being either way.
What some Queen fans seem not to understand is that there are fans of Adam who feel exactly the same about him as you and others do about Freddie and get just as defensive about him as Freddie fans do.

The author of the thread wasn't me so therefore I have no control over where it was posted. If there were mods on here it would have been moved to the personal section but there aren't unfortunately so people post stuff wherever they want and anything not of interest to me I just ignore. Tbh if there were mods on here I'd hope there wouldn't be endless page after page of rants either. On Queenonline there's a section for AL where people can post whatever they like, maybe someone should make one on here then the QAL section could remain for just that. Again, I understand not everyone feels the way I do. I find it disrespectful and distasteful that someone comes here just to purposely spam and promote AL, while ignoring the legacy of Freddie and Queen. There's only two people here who do that. Deliberate ignorance.
Sure, if I had money I'd go you Montreux to see Freddie's statue and other things too, the 24th is a day of reflection for me, doesn't mean I think of Freddie as a family member or anything like that. I'm sure if AL died suddenly and horribly like Freddie, his fans would be heartbroken, heck I'd be sad about myself. Some people mourn public figures. I was devastated when Bowie and George Michael passed away, because it was so unexpected. They left the world with some great music which is living on, and it's my hope that it will for decades yet.
I lost my father this year, he was my best friend, so I'm aware of what losing someone close is like. What I feel for Freddie is nothing compared to the loss of my father. Losing someone close is awful, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm not that big of a hateful bitch.
I don't see how you can compare Queen and Freddie fans to Glamberts. It's not the same at all. I don't see Brian May fans tracking flights, crying foul over the least little thing, about how Brian smells. Sometimes the word Glambert can have bad connotations.
