I thought of SC when I read this comic a few days ago ...

That could go for snifflese as well, LOL.
Just to clear up the WLL debate it was Adam's suggestion to include it in the set list, guess he just loves the song and loves performing it.

Did he say why he suggested it?

Nope just said it was his suggestion and Brian & Roger were all for it. Like you say they have history with Zep and Brian's jokingly started playing it before so they probably just fancied a change.
Probably because he sang it on Idol and it was one of his best performances. He has sung it quite often, so he felt comfortable with it. Just saw the Queen section of the Australian benefit concert on Fox. It is amazing how much better the songs sound and look when they are professionally recorded. You tubes and streams taken on phones in the audience just don't do justice to the concert. I wish they would release a DVD of one of their concerts. I am sure there would be tons of people who would be purchasing that for themselves. Or maybe they will one day put out a DVD of the best versions of their songs from various concerts during different tours. That would be great also. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Brian looked so happy, not at all tired during the performance. I know on other tours he has looked a bit tired by the end. Unbelievable, as there was so much rain, terrible weather in general and it was really sticky and hot during this section of the tour. I just looked and it is 80 degrees in Sydney and that is darn hot to try and sing and play outdoors. I keep saying it, but those guys are amazing.

I'm not following his interviews this time around, so I wondered if he explained why it was added. Your reasoning seems, well reasonable ;-)

The terrible hip thrusting, though.

You know, not everything comes back around to Idol. He sang his fair share of covers on the show, I'd rather Q+AL sang a hidden gem from the Queen back catalogue than WLL. I will never think WLL is AL's strong suit.
But you asked why they did that song and I am sure it was because Adam sang it on Idol. That was the only reason I mentioned Idol. I can't leave Idol out, if that is probably why he chose it. It was a song that got a lot of acclaim and he sang it quite a bit after Idol. How do I not mention that? You can think what you like, I thought it was a great version. YMMV. Sometimes it is just fun to sing something totally outside the realm of the Queen catalog. Everyone was surprised and talking about it and if Brian and Roger also had this great connection to the song, it seems like it was a good choice. I thought the performance looked like a lot of fun for the guys and it was done very well. I enjoyed it immensely as it was something new for a change.
That’s how you can tell Adam Worshippers from Queen fans. Sniffy and SweetCaroline are always thinking that Spike is a member of Queen. So ridiculous, so annoying.

It wasn't even explained why they picked it, just that Lambert suggested it.
Why are you so adamant that it was picked because of Idol? It's that supposed to make it seem endearing to Queen and rock fans?
If Brian and Roger had a connection to the song you say, after I expl6 the connection they had to Zeppelin. AL covering Zeppelin on a talent show is nowhere near the connections Queen have with zeppelin.
No, even Brian and Roger can't make AL singing the song better, in my opinion, I'd go as far as saying it's one of the worst covers I've heard all sing. I think it shows his weakness.

Well they think that because Spike is apparently the one who mentioned AL on Idol to Brian and Roger.
I adore Spike, he's a fb friend of mine, I think he's extremely talented, but I never did think of him as a member of Queen. He wasnt, simply put.
I wonder if snifflese and SweetCaroline knows the other connection Spike has with a member of Queen.
I would immediately unfriend him if he was the reason for this 8 year long mess. If someone sent me a link to a WLL performance of the goat and suggested this tool should sing Queen songs i would have laughed and ignored him. Obviously him touring with Queen damaged his hearing

It completely sucked, Even Slash was less than impressed by it and told him!

It sounds atrocious recorded with a cheap phone and it sounds atrocious when it is professionally recorded. YOU cannot polish a turd
