Brian is frequently intemperate and narcissistic, and has piss poor self-awareness. But the only reason we know that to such a certainty is because he has such a genuine desire to use his platform and privilege meaningfully - to affect social change for the good, as he sees it, and to have real exchanges with real fans, as he sees them. So he's a twat a lot of the time, but a well-intended human basically all of the time.[/QUOTE]

Can we split the difference and say he's a twat some of the time. Being well intended would also mean that being a twat wouldn't be intentional ;)

More proof of his narcissistic demeanour:

A friend of mine if physio for the England Women's cricket team currently in Pert for the Women's T20 Cricket World Cup.

The team were in the gym and had a Queen play list going and the girls were all singing during their training session. In to the guym walks Brian May who insisted that the music be turned off or, at the very least, down because "I don't want to hear it!"

What an absolute fucking idiot.

Not quite. . .

He turned up to train, they were playing Queen quite loud he spent some time with the music playing then asked ( sorry one of the guys he was with asked) for it to be turned off.

Yes Brian didn't want to listen to it, he's in the middle of a tour playing the music, his time away from Queen is his own.

How many artists really want to listen to them selves all the time.

Vocal harmony, re:

>all the time

All the time? He's the one that's flogging Queen music to every advert that pops the question. He's the one agreeing to GH re-issues every 9 months or so. He's the one fronting publicity for a fictitious movie about the band that has reached a global audience.

Then he has the temerity to go in to a hotel gym and demand that a group of elite athletes turn Queen music off that they're loving and using to motivate themselves?

You seriously believe that to be an OK thing to do?

Brian has become a twat of the highest order, how dare he tell people to turn Queen music off when he was visiting Gym the arrogant git.
Its as if he hates listening to Freddie singing now but i bet he would not say anything if it was his pet Adam was singing Queen songs at that Gym!

ST16,

You'd hope that the Cricketers would have told him to fuck off, and turned it up, referring May to the Hotel Manager given that they are booked in to the hotel en-masse for the duration of the group stages of the tournament. Would guess that the revenue the hotel makes from touring England cricket teams when they visit Perth is far more valuable to them over the next few years than a one-off stay.

May's a bell-end.

Suck it up or fuck off - don't act the prima donna. Go to the gym another time, another gym or just don't bother. Brian in recent years has really highlighted what a nobhead he can be.

I agree how dare Brian tell people to switch off what they are listening too, the man is arrogant and has this self important image of himself.
Brian's true colours are coming out at last which gives us all some answers as to why they were always arguing in the studio years ago.

Brian didn't demand anything, he asked politely. Hence the word 'please' was used.
Brian likes to listen to Gojira at the gym while watching Conan the Barbarian. CLTCL is for wimps

Holly2003, re:

The physio reckons the the intonation was such that it was a demand as opposed to a request. Then sending a big bloke in to follow it upkind of re-enforced it to a bunch of ****YOUNG WOMEN****

This is the person who was asked by Brian's security guard actually said - there's no denying this.
