I forgot to tell you all that I got my stamps yesterday and they are intact! The box was a bit mangled so I was afraid, but I gave it a little shake and heard nothing and all was well. The box was stamped "Fragile" and also said something about glass merchandize. The frame itself had firm cardboard on the corners which further protected the picture. I haven't decided where to hang it, but it will be here in the Freddie room.

I’m glad your stamps arrived in good shape! The announcement they have been teasing should be at 7:00 eastern time, midnight tonight for them. Most speculation is a Queen +AL album or maybe live DVD? They have talked about that a bit, and since the teaser has Adam in it that’s probably close. I’m not sure if I’ll get it, depends on what it is, I guess. If it’s a live album or DVD I might do it, unless it’s the firefight in Australia performance. I thought that one wasn't good, Adam seemed super nervous and his voice was tight on that one. I do wish it was something other than an Adam collaboration, I’d prefer some cleaned up earlier albums. But alas, they don’t ask me! : )

Actually, my screen name here is from that song as well....there is a line in the middle that says, “and two by two, my human zoo will be running for to come out of the rain”. Short explanation, for any that care, lol!

Katy, I assume that means you got the framed stamps like JB? So glad yours made it in good condition. Not much that's more frustrating then looking forward to a purchase and having it damaged!

MHZ, I do love that song many of those songs from the 70s just make sense to me. The lyrics are just so beautifully written. We can set and think about what each piece means to us.I think Queens best music ever written was from the 70”s. That’s with a lot of bands though if you think about it . One of my moms favorite bands and one I barely remember I think I was around 5 was The Bee Gees I remember they used to be on these big records weren’t they. I was pretty young but I still remember loading up in the car going to the drive in with her and her friends. To watch Saturday night fever. I can’t remember the movie I was to busy hitting my little brother in the back seat.She really loved that band though.
So now that the big announcement by Queen+AL has been made, is anyone planning on ordering their upcoming CD/album? As much as I love the Q+AL collaboration, and would go see them again in a heartbeat, the CD is not something I feel a strong need to own at this time...but that could change. I do love the cover photo.
I have a couple of iTunes gift cards. What I plan on doing is choosing my favorite Queen songs throughout the years and making my own CD. I already have a few greatest hits CDs that I play in the car all the time, but I'd like to listen to the songs that don't make it onto those CDs. MHZ...I also love "The Prophet's Song". Actually, let me qualify that...I love the beginning and I love the end of "The Prophet's Song". The long part in the middle where they keep repeating, "now I know, now I know, now I know, now I know" totally grates on my nerves! (I know it's probably bordering on sacrilegious to make a statement like that on a Queen fan site!!!)

Rainbow, I think I'm feeling the CD/DVD combo, but not immediately. It took me a long time to accept Adam, but I'm fine with him now particularly since he doesn't try to imitate Freddie. That concert last summer was one of the best I've seen and I think I'd go again if I had the opportunity. But like Amidds, I'd also like to see a re-release or even some kind of release of new Queen material that has been hidden in archives somewhere.

Oh Rainbow, that middle section is one of the things I adore about The Prophet Song! Funny how we are all different, I really love how Freddie plays with the harmonies and repeating in that part. Oddly Katy, the human zoo part does also refer to my family...but don’t tell them that!
I am torn on the new release...I think I might go for the DVD, mainly just so I always have a visual reminder of the concert when I went. One thing that is disappointing is that it does have the whole Firefight Australia set. I get that it is a do-over of Live Aid, but I don’t like that they did a live aid set with Adam, and as I said before Adam was not even at his best during the set. I don’t mind Adam singing with them at all, I just really felt like Live Aid was one of Freddie’s highest moments, and it grates on me that they would kind of sully it by doing it again. The other thing is the list of songs, it says they are from all over the world, but I think there is only 1 from the US. I’m not really sure why that bothers me, but it seems like we have supported them in a huge way lately so they could have thrown in more than the one with the cheerleaders as the main focus! I could be mixing up what is included in the CD vs the DVD, I just skimmed content so don’t hold me to these.

70s Freddie is my fav for sure the periphery song was a beautiful piece I knew that where MHZ got his name. Brian did a lovely job. Those guys were the best British band around in the 70”s.

I agree with you, Imdont personally have anything against Adam. I think he’s been respectful of Freddie (more than Brian has) and is talented. In a way, theremwould be no Adam had there not been a Freddie.
However. I just find myself missing Freddie when listening/seeing Adam. It makes me sad and doesn't being me pleasure.

MHZ, I too had a cat who lived to be 18 years and 4 months old.:-) I love her with all.my heart, still. My present cat turns 10 next week, so still a "spring chicken" in my book.a
She seems to be getting a lot stronger these last few days, and more like her old self. Lovely to see.
I see that Queen+AL are bringing an album out. Blue vinyl like that happy accident Bohemian Rhapsody limited run. Doubt I will be buying it, personally, as though I have no issues with Brian and Roger performing with Adam, and I recognise that he has a superb voice, and range and is a highly talented performer, he just doesn't 'do it" for me, the way Freddie did with his voice.
Freddie's voice, for me, was just perfection and ticked every box. A personal preference thing, but , I wish them luck with it.
My "No Mask.On Your Face..." mug arrived quickly, and I bought a T Shirt to match. :-) Hopefully one day, I can look back on these purchases, with remembrance of situations long gone, but I'm afraid I may wear the T Shirt out before that happens.r
